   Sammanfattning : The aim of the present study was to investigate all long-term institutions in the county of Västerbotten, Northern Sweden, to give a detailed description of the institutionalized population with respect to motor functions, vision, hearing, speech, ADL-functions, prevalence of psychiatric symptoms and behavioral disturbances, staff work load, use of psychoactive drugs and prevalence of dementia. Another aim was to select some specific 'problem areas' in the nursing care of demented patients for further descriptive and interventional studies. LÄS MER

5. 14. DNA flow cytometry of cytokeratin selected breast cancer cells as prognostic indicator

   Sammanfattning : DNA flow cytometry is used for the estimation of cell proliferation (S-phase fraction) and abnormalities in cellular DNA content (DNA ploidy), parameters which yield prognostic information in breast carcinomas. However, stromal, inflammatory, and residual non-neoplastic epithelial cells overlap cancer cells in the DNA histogram and complicate the calculation of DNA ploidy and S-phase fraction. LÄS MER
