  1. 1. Development of 18F- and 68Ga-Labelled Tracers : Design Perspectives and the Search for Faster Synthesis

    Författare :Elisabeth Blom; Bengt Långström; Oleksiy Itsenko; Irina Velikyan; Farhad Karimi; Frank Rösch; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PET; nucleophilic 18F-fluorination; perfluoro; F-SPE; molecular design; 68Ga; chelators; DOTA; NOTA; microwave; halogen exchange; harmine; biotin; RGD; VEGF; CRP; Chemistry; Kemi; Organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the design of 18F- and 68Ga-labelled positron emission tomography (PET) tracers and the development of technologies that enable faster and simpler preparation with high specific radioactivity. Techniques like microwave heating and reducing the concentrations of the precursor were investigated with this perspective. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Imaging of Enzymes in the Steroid Biosynthetic Pathway : Synthesis of 18F-Labelled Tracers

    Författare :Maria Erlandsson; Bengt Långström; Franklin Aigbirhio; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi; Organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the synthesis and development of 18F-labelled alkyl etomidate and vorozole analogues, and their use as positron emission tomography (PET) tracers for the imaging of the steroid enzymes 11β-hydroxylase and aromatase. Two synthetic 18F-labelling approaches to the etomidate and vorozole analogues were developed, and the analogues were evaluated in some biological assays. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm : Molecular Imaging Studies of Pathophysiology

    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Abdominal aortic aneurysm; AAA; Positron emission tomography; PET; Molecular Imaging; Pathophysiology; Autoradiography; Angiogenesis; integrin alphaVbeta3; FDG; 18F-FDG; 11C-PK11195; 11C-D-deprenyl; [18F]fluciclatide; Fluciclatide; Bukaortaaneurysm; Molekylär bilddiagnostik; Patofysiologi; PET; Autoradiografi; Angiogenes; Surgery; Kirurgi; Medicinsk radiofysik; Medical Radiophysics;

    Sammanfattning : The pathological process behind abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) formation is poorly understood and difficult to study. The aim of the thesis was to study the pathophysiology of AAA formation with positron emission tomography (PET) technology, a molecular imaging technique, allowing in vivo studies of pathophysiological changes. 4. 4. Radionuclide Production with PET Cyclotrons, Applications and Preclinical Experiments

    Författare :Jonathan Siikanen; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Radionuclide production; Solid target; Water target; Cyclotron; PET; SPECT; 18F; 89Zr;

    Sammanfattning : Nuclear medicine is based on the radiotracer principle of George de Hevesy and the magic bullet concept by Ehrlich and focuses on the diagnosis, the treatment of diseases and the investigation of normal states within the human body using radiopharmaceuticals. A radiopharmaceutical is an atom or a chemical compound in which one or several atoms are replaced with a radionuclide. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Aspects of PET-CT in prostate cancer. Protocol optimization, diagnostic accuracy, and dosimetry

    Författare :Mimmi Bjöersdorff; Malmö Nuklearmedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; PET-CT; Prostatacancer; [18F]FCH; [18F]PSMA-1007; optimering; diagnostisk noggrannhet; dosimetri; PET-CT; Prostate Cancer; [18F]FCH; [18F]PSMA-1007; Optimization; Diagnostic accuracy; Dosimetric;

    Sammanfattning : The PET-CT imaging modality is based on positron emission tomography combined with computed tomography. Before a PET-CT examination, a radioactive tracer (also called a radiopharmaceutical) is intravenously injected into the patient. PET technology images the distribution of this tracer element by detecting the decay. LÄS MER
