    Sammanfattning : In Rome during the mid-11th to the mid-13th centuries, a great number of churches were newly built or rebuilt. This called for consecrations of both the churches and the altars contained in them. The consecrations were performed by the Pope or a bishop. Often, an inscription was made to commemorate the event.     Sammanfattning : Churches in two Estonian counties - Ösel-Wiek and Jerwen - have very many similar features with churches in Gotland. In earlier scientific researches these similarities in styles were explained by the artistic ambitions of single travelling masons, the present research emphasizes the political and artistic preferences of those who ordered the buildings to be built and who financed them.     Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to explain how politics in 14th century Scandinavia were structured by a set of rules or norms of conduct – rules which were neither codified nor enforced by any outside agency, yet had a very real impact on the patterns by which political action was conducted. Taking inspiration from historical anthropology, the study sets out to analyze the ways in which political tensions and relationships, primarily within the royal elite, were negotiated in various situations.     Sammanfattning : Coin production began on Gotland, an island off the eastern coast of Sweden, at the beginning of the 12th century. The coins were struck to a standard that was different from that of other coinages of the Scandinavian area, and were modelled after coins from north-western Germany and Frisia. LÄS MER
