11. Amputation for vascular disease. Prognostic factors for healing, long-term outcome and costs
Sammanfattning : General characteristics and outcome was evaluated in 177 consecutive patients who underwent a major amputation in a defined population. Smoking and diabetes lowered the mean amputation age. Healing failure at six months was seen in 24% of transtibial and in 11% of transfemoral amputees. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to explore the possible effects of exposure to cigarette smoking during foetal and early postnatal life on lower respiratory disease and sensitisation in children up to four years of age. Sammanfattning : Essay I: I study the effects of increased social assistance (SA) generosity by exploiting exogenous variation induced by a ruling in the Swedish Supreme Administrative Court in 1993, mandating local governments to provide a minimum level of untied SA payments.
