    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; infrared detectors; Type-II superlattice; surface leakage; high operating temperature; passivation; optical concentration; modulation transfer function; noise.; infraröda detektorer; Typ-II supergitter; ytströmmar; hög arbetstemperatur; passivering; optisk koncentration; moduleringsöverföringsfunktion; brus; Informations- och kommunikationsteknik; Information and Communication Technology;

    Sammanfattning : Type-II Superlattice (T2SL) detectors have revolutionized the field of infraredimaging, establishing themselves as the forefront technology in defense, space,and industrial applications. These detectors enable larger formats and higheroperating temperatures (HOT) that minimize the need for bulky and energyconsumingcryogenic cooling, paving the way for imaging systems with reducedSize, Weight, and Power (SWaP). 2. 2. Mid- and near-infrared NICE-OHMS : techniques for ultra-sensitive detection of molecules in gas phase

    Författare :Thomas Hausmaninger; Ove Axner; Kyle Crabtree; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; spectrometry; NICE-OHMS; trace gas detection; acetylene; methane; isotopologues; near-infrared; mid-infrared; shot-noise; optical parametric oscillator; teknisk fysik med inriktningen mikrosystemteknik; engineering science with specialization in microsystems technology;

    Sammanfattning : Noise-immune cavity-enhanced optical heterodyne molecular spectrometry (NICE-OHMS) is a technique for ultra-sensitive detection of molecular absorption and dispersion. For highest performance, the technique combines cavity enhancement (CE) with frequency modulation (FM); while the former increases the effective interaction length between the light and the analyte by several orders of magnitudes, the latter removes the in-coupling of 1/f noise and makes the signals background free. 3. 3. Observational Studies of the Chemical Evolution in the Galactic Thin and Thick Disks

    Författare :Thomas Bensby; Astronomi - Genomgår omorganisation; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Astronomy; Astronomi; Fysicumarkivet A:2004:Bensby;

    Sammanfattning : The origin and evolution of the thin and thick disks in the Galaxy have been studied by means of detailed stellar abundances. High-resolution spectra of 102 F and G dwarf stars have been obtained with the spectrographs on the ESO 3.6-m and ESO 1. LÄS MER

  4. 4. On design of experiments in continuous processes

    Författare :Erik Vanhatalo; Geoffrey Vining; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Kvalitetsteknik; Quality Technology and Management;

    Sammanfattning : Design of Experiments (DoE) includes powerful methods, such as factorial designs, to help maximize the information output from conducted experiments while minimizing the experimental work required for statistically significant results. The benefits of using DoE in industry are thoroughly described in the literature although the actual use of the methods in industry is far from being pervasive. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Further development of NICE-OHMS : – an ultra-sensitive frequency-modulated cavity-enhanced laser-based spectroscopic
 technique for detection of molecules in gas phase

    Författare :Patrick Ehlers; Ove Axner; Joakim Bood; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NICE-OHMS; Frequency Modulation; Cavity Enhancement; Molecular Spectroscopy; fysik; Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Noise-immune cavity-enhanced optical heterodyne molecular spectroscopy, NICE-OHMS, is a laser-based spectroscopic detection technique that comprises the concepts of frequency modulation (FM, for reduction of 1/f-noise by detecting the signal at a high frequency) and cavity enhancement (CE, for a prolongation of the optical path length) in a unique way. Properly designed, this gives the technique an intrinsic immunity against the frequency-to-noise conversion that limits many other types of CE techniques. LÄS MER
