  1. 1. Large-scale simulation of neuronal systems

    Författare :Mikael Djurfeldt; Örjan Ekeberg; Charles Peck; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Biologically detailed computational models of large-scale neuronal networks have now become feasible due to the development of increasingly powerful massively parallel supercomputers. We report here about the methodology involved in simulation of very large neuronal networks. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Computer Simulation of the Neural Control of Locomotion in the Cat

    Författare :Nalin Harischandra; Örjan Ekeberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Locomotion; Computer simulation; Central pattern generator; Muscle activation; Linear transfer functions; Sensory feedback; Neural control; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Locomotion is one of the most important behaviours and requires interaction between sensors at various levels of the nervous system and the limb muscles of an animal. The basic neural rhythm for locomotion in mammals has been shown to arise from local neural networks residing in the spinal cord and these networks are known as central pattern generators (CPGs). 3. 3. Computer Simulation of the Neural Control of Locomotion in the Cat and the Salamander

    Författare :Nalin Harischandra; Örjan Ekeberg; Silvia Gruhn; KTH; []

    Sammanfattning : Locomotion is an integral part of a whole range of animal behaviours. The basic rhythm for locomotion in vertebrates has been shown to arise from local networks residing in the spinal cord and these networks are known as central pattern generators (CPG). LÄS MER

  4. 4. Subsystems of the basal ganglia and motor infrastructure

    Författare :Iman Kamali Sarvestani; Örjan Ekeberg; Jeanette Hällgren-Kotaleski; Christelle Baunez; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Basal Ganglia; Action Selection; Motor Learning; Tectum; Superior Colliculus; Mesencephalic Locomotor Region; Reticulospinal Neurons; Computational Models;

    Sammanfattning : The motor nervous system is one of the main systems of the body and is our principle means ofbehavior. Some of the most debilitating and wide spread disorders are motor systempathologies. In particular the basal ganglia are complex networks of the brain that control someaspects of movement in all vertebrates. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Reinforcement Learning of Locomotion based on Central Pattern Generators

    Författare :Cai Li; Tom Ziemke; Robert Lowe; Örjan Ekeberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Locomotion learning for robotics is an interesting and challenging area in which the movement capabilities of animals have been deeply investigated and acquired knowledge has been transferred into modelling locomotion on robots. What modellers are required to understand is what structure can represent locomotor systems in different animals and how such animals develop various and dexterous locomotion capabilities. LÄS MER
