  1. 1. Generating Dendritic Cells by Direct Cell Reprogramming. Merging cellular reprogramming with immunology towards the development of novel cancer immunotherapies

    Författare :Fábio Fiúza Rosa; Avdelningen för molekylärmedicin och genterapi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Dendritic Cell; Direct Cell Reprogramming; Single-cell analysis; Immunotherapy;

    Sammanfattning : Cell fate reprogramming towards pluripotency or alternative somatic cell-types has highlighted the plasticity of adult somatic cells, providing new technologies to generate desired cell types for tissue repair or for disease modeling. There is momentum to bring these concepts to immunology by specifying unique immune cellular identities that set in motion immune responses. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Cardiac cell identification and isolation

    Författare :Laura Tarnawski; Stamcellscentrum (SCC); []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Identification and isolation of cardiomyocytes from the heart, embryonic stem cells, or induced pluripotent stem cells is a challenging task and will require specific isolation techniques. Less than 30% of the cells within the murine heart are cardiomyocytes and, what is more, there are multiple sub-populations of cardiomyocytes like atrial, ventricular and conduction system cardiomyocytes. 3. 3. Molecular mechanisms of embryonic stem cell pluripotency: transcription, telomere maintenance and proliferation

    Författare :Dzeneta Vizlin-Hodzic; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; embryonic stem cells; Oct4; SAF-A; Brg1; Tpt1; Npm1; transcriptional regulation; cell proliferation; shelterin;

    Sammanfattning : Somatic cell nuclear transfer and generation of induced pluripotent stem cells provide potential routes towards generation of patient specific embryonic stem (ES) cells. These procedures require induction of Oct4 gene expression, high telomerase activity and specific cell proliferation, characteristics shared with cancer stem cells. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Identification of stem cell factors - Novel protein-protein interactions and their functions

    Författare :Helena Johansson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; embryonic stem cells; Tpt1; Npm1; Ncl; Oct4; Sox2; Nanog; SAF-A; cell proliferation; transcriptional regulation;

    Sammanfattning : Embryonic stem (ES) cells provide an unlimited source of cells potentially useful for regenerative medicine, however, prior to clinical implementation, additional basic research is needed. This thesis is focused upon different molecular aspects regarding ES cells, primarily by finding novel stem cell protein-protein interactions and their functions. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The presence of TP53 mutations has been associated with inferior outcome in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). In DLBCL, the impact of the TP53 codon 72 polymorphism and MDM2 SNP309 has not been clearly elucidated, whereas MDM2 SNP309 was suggested as a poor-prognostic marker in CLL. LÄS MER
