1. General purpose technology diffusion and labour market dynamics : A spatio-temporal perspective
Sammanfattning : This dissertation aims at advancing the knowledge about the role of the labour market in the process of the technology-induced economic transformation, taking into account the variety of factors involved at micro-, meso-, and macro-levels of the economy and at different geographical scales. Empirically, the dissertation investigates the co-evolutionary dynamics of industrial restructuring and worker reallocation across and within regional labour markets induced by the diffusion of the information technology as a general purpose technology (GPT) in Sweden in the period between 1985 and 2010. 2. Educational Choice and Labor Market Outcomes : Essays in Empirical Labor Economics
Sammanfattning : The Importance of Education for the Reallocation of Labor: Evidence from Swedish Linked Employer-Employee Data 1986-2002 Using employer-employee data covering the whole Swedish economy over a uniquely long time period from 1986 to 2002, we examine how job flows and worker flows have been distributed both on an aggregate level and across educational levels. We find that job and worker flows vary by educational level, not only with respect to magnitude and variation, but with respect to direction as well. LÄS MER

4. Essays on Macroeconomics, Monetary Policy and Mobility
Sammanfattning : The Cyclicality of Earnings Growth Along the Distribution - Causes and ConsequencesEarnings growth is more procyclical at the bottom of the income distribution than at the top. Using high-quality administrative data from Germany, I show that the heterogeneity is chiefly driven by transitions between employment and non-employment, specifically job-finding. LÄS MER
5. Wages and Their Impact on Individuals, Households and Firms
Sammanfattning : Essay I: This paper studies how wages respond to employer concentration. It exploits a reform that deregulated the Swedish pharmacy market, which until 2009 was a monopoly. The reform involved a substantial increase in the number of employers on the pharmacy labor market. LÄS MER
