  1. 1. Aerosol deposition to coastal forests: a wind tunnel approach

    Författare :Ausra Reinap; Bo L.B. Wiman; Birgitta Svenningsson; Bo Bergbäck; Lise Lotte Sørensen; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NaCl aerosol; dry deposition; climate change; coastal-zone forest; Quercus robur; wind tunnel; edge effect; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Miljövetenskap; Environmental Science;

    Sammanfattning : Aerodynamically rough surfaces of forests provide for efficient air/ canopy exchange of mass, heat and momentum. In that context, the effects of forest edges come into focus, and therefore, coastal-zone forests constitute aparticular concern. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Investigations of Flow Conditions in an Automotive Wind Tunnel

    Författare :Emil Ljungskog; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wind tunnel; Ground simulation; Tangential blowing; CFD simulations; Slotted walls;

    Sammanfattning : As vehicle manufacturers seek to shorten the development time of new models, wind tunnel testing of prototype vehicles needs to be partially replaced by virtual simulations. However, this requires thorough validation of the virtual methods, which is done by comparison to wind tunnel tests. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Scaling techniques using CFD and wind tunnel measurements for use in aircraft design

    Författare :Karl Pettersson; Arthur Rizzi; Henrik Alfredsson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CFD; wind tunnel; scaling; Reynolds number effect; Vehicle engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the problems of scaling aerodynamic data from wind tunnel conditions to free flight. The main challenges when this scaling should be performed is how the model support, wall interference and the potentially lower Reynolds number in the wind tunnel should be corrected. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Evaluation and modeling of the flow in a slotted wall wind tunnel

    Författare :Emil Ljungskog; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CFD Simulations; Ground Simulation; Uncertainty Quantification; Wind Tunnel; Tangential Blowing; Flow Uniformity; Slotted Walls;

    Sammanfattning : As vehicle manufacturers strive to shorten the development time of new models, an increasing share of the aerodynamic development work is shifted from wind tunnel testing of prototype vehicles to numerical simulations of virtual models. However, comparing measurements from the wind tunnel with numerical simulation data is not straightforward due to several interference effects occurring between the wind tunnel and the tested vehicle. 5. 5. Natural Ventilation and Air Infiltration in Large Single‑Zone Buildings : Measurements and Modelling with Reference to Historical Churches

    Författare :Abolfazl Hayati; Magnus Mattsson; Mats Sandberg; Jens Fransson; Guilherme Carrilho da Graça; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Natural ventilation; Airing; Air infiltration; Single-sided ventilation; Cross flow; Large single zones; Historical Churches; Model evaluation optimization; Field measurements; Wind tunnel; Indoor climate and Energy simulation; IDA-ICE; Tracer gas technique; Pressurization test.; Naturlig ventilation; Vädring; Luftinfiltration; Ensidig ventilation; Tvärdrag; Höga en-zonsbyggnader; Kulturhistoriska kyrkor; Modellutvärdering optimering; Fältmätningar; Vindtunnel; Inomhusklimat och energisimulering; IDA-ICE; Spårgas teknik; Trycksättningstest.; Hållbar stadsutveckling; Sustainable Urban Development;

    Sammanfattning : Natural ventilation is the dominating ventilation process in ancient buildings like churches, and also in most domestic buildings in Sweden and in the rest of the world. These buildings are naturally ventilated via air infiltration and airing. LÄS MER
