  1. 6. Physicochemical Treatment of Municipal Wastewater : From Direct Membrane Filtration to Adsorption of Organic Micropollutants

    Författare :Simon Gidstedt; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Direkt membranfiltrering; Granulärt aktivt kol; Avloppsvatten; Kemisk förbehandling; Mikrosilning; Direct membrane filtration; Granular activated carbon; Wastewater; Chemically enhanced primary treatment; Microsieving;

    Sammanfattning : Pharmaceutical residues and other organic micropollutants are transported via municipal wastewater to wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). However, current treatment processes are not designed to remove organic micropollutants, and several such compounds have been found in recipients, where they can have negative effects on aquatic organisms. 2. 7. Efficient treatment of forest industrial wastewaters : Energy efficiency and resilience during disturbances

    Författare :Maria Sandberg; Karin Granström; Jonas Berghel; Alan Werker; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Forest industry; wastewater; oxygen transfer rate; black liquor; surface active; extractives; Miljö- och energisystem; Environmental and Energy Systems;

    Sammanfattning : This work concerns the efficient treatment of wastewaters from pulp and paper mills by means of aerobic biological processes. For treatment processes there are many aspects of efficiency and the present study investigates both energy efficiency and purification efficiency during disturbances. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Microbiological analysis of municipal wastewater treating photobioreactors

    Författare :Ivo Krustok; Monica Odlare; Emma Nehrenheim; Jaak Truu; Raul Muñoz; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; photobioreactors; wastewater treatment; microalgae; microbiology; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Microalgae reactors, commonly known as photobioreactors, have become increasingly popular as an alternative for wastewater treatment. These systems reduce pollutants and remove nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorous compounds from wastewater utilizing microalgae and bacteria. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Wastewater treatment in constructed wetlands : Effects of vegetation, hydraulics and data analysis methods

    Författare :Hristina Bodin; Karin Tonderski; Jesper Persson; Stefan Weisner; Per Milberg; Hans Brix; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :constructed wetland; free water surface flow; wastewater treatment; Kenya; Sweden; vegetation; harvest; Cyperus papyrus; Echinochloa pyramidalis; mass load; phosphorus; ammonium; suspended solids; pollutant removal; hydraulics; residence time distribution; data analysis methods; Konstgjorda våtmarker; avloppsvatten; vattenrening; fosfor; ammonium; partiklar; Kenya; Sverige; växter; Cyperus papyrus; Echinochloa pyramidalis; skörd; hydraulik; dataanalysmetod;

    Sammanfattning : Degradation of water resources has become one of the most pressing global concerns currently facing mankind. Constructed Wetlands (CWs) represent a concept to combat deterioration of water resources by acting as buffers between wastewater and receiving water bodies. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Antibiotic Resistance in Wastewater : Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)and antibiotic resistance genes

    Författare :Stefan Börjesson; Per-Eric Lindgren; Johanna Ericson Sollid; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MRSA; SCCmec; spa typing; Staphylococcus aureus; methicillin; B-lactam; aminoglycoside; tetracycline; antibiotic; wastewater; wastewater treatment plant; Microbiology; Mikrobiologi;

    Sammanfattning : A large part of the antibiotics consumed ends up in wastewater, and in the wastewater the antibiotics may exert selective pressure for or maintain resistance among microorganisms. Antibiotic resistant bacteria and genes encoding antibiotic resistance are commonly detected in wastewater, often at higher rates and concentrations compared to surface water. LÄS MER
