  1. 1. Rift Valley fever : consequences of virus-host interactions

    Författare :Maria Baudin; Magnus Evander; Clas Ahlm; Göran Bucht; Tomas Bergström; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Rift Valley fever; Rift Valley fever virus; viral haemorrhagic fever; miscarriage; entry; charge; carbohydrates; high-throughput screening; antiviral; cell-based assay; medicinsk virologi; Medical Virology;

    Sammanfattning : Rift Valley fever virus (RVFV) is a mosquito-borne virus which has the ability to infect a large variety of animals including humans in Africa and Arabian Peninsula. The abortion rate among these animals are close to 100%, and young animals develop severe disease which often are lethal. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Rift Valley fever : development of diagnostics and vaccines

    Författare :Jonas Näslund; Clas Ahlm; Richard Elliott; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Rift Valley Fever; vaccines; diagnostics; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Microbiology; immunology; infectious diseases; Mikrobiologi; immunologi; infektionssjukdomar; medicinsk virologi; Medical Virology; Infectious Diseases; infektionssjukdomar;

    Sammanfattning : Rift Valley Fever virus (RVFV) causes an infection with severe impact on animal and human health. The disease is endemic throughout almost the entire African continent and large regions of the Arabian Peninsula. During epidemics, high mortality is observed in animals, especially among cattle, goats, and sheep. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Rift Valley fever : challenges and new insights for prevention and control using the “One Health” approach

    Författare :Osama Ahmed Hassan Ahmed; Magnus Evander; Clas Ahlm; Joacim Rocklöv; Maria Van Kerkhove; Umeå universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Rift Valley fever (RVF) is an emerging viral zoonosis that causes frequent outbreaks in east Africa and on the Arabian Peninsula. The likelihood of RVF global expansion due to climate change and human anthropogenic factors is an important issue. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Diamond Devices Based on Valley Polarization

    Författare :Nattakarn Suntornwipat; Jan Isberg; Markus Gabrysch; Saman Majdi; Hitoshi Umezawa; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CVD diamond; valleytronics; Negative Differential Mobility; NDM; electron polarization; Time-of-Flight; magnetotransport; carrier transport; drift velocity; valley-transistor; Transferred-Electron Oscillator; TEO; TED; Gunn diode;

    Sammanfattning : Diamond is a wide bandgap semiconductor with extreme properties such as high thermal conductivity, high breakdown field, high carrier mobilities and chemical inertness. These properties together with the possibility to synthesize high purity Single-Crystalline (SC) diamond by Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD), make it a very interesting material and a candidate for use in power electronics and in hazardous environments.
