  1. 1. Våtmarkshistoria : Hjälmarens och Kvismarens stränder under 1800- och 1900-talen

    Författare :Jörgen Lennqvist; Thord Strömberg; Eva Jakobsson; Per Eliasson; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; historia; vattenhistoria; miljöhistoria; våtmarkshistora; våtmark; sjösänkning; våtmarksrestaurering; landskap; landskapssystem; History; Historia; Historia; History;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is a history of man’s and nature’s relationship, with regards to water. It is an environmental history about the changes in the wetland landscape around the Lakes Hjälmaren and Kvismaren in central Sweden during the 19th and 20th century. Hjälmaren, Sweden’s fourth-largest lake, was lowered between 1878 and 1888. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Beneficial Use of Stormwater - Opportunities for urban renewal and water conservation

    Författare :Edgar Villarreal-Gonzalez; Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; soil mechanics; Väg- och vattenbyggnadsteknik; offshore technology; hydraulic engineering; Civil engineering; water conservation; rainwater collection; Best Management Practices; Urban stormwater; green-roofs; open drainage systems;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the beneficial use of stormwater in Swedish urban environments. The focus has been on open stormwater systems for source control, as well as rainwater collection systems. To analyse the implementation of open stormwater systems, two case studies are presented: Augustenborg in Malmö and Bäckaslöv wetland in Växjö. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Nitrogen transformations in wetlands: Effects of water flow patterns

    Författare :Torbjörn Davidsson; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hydrobiology; hydrology; infiltration; subsurface flow; surface flow; wetland; nitrogen; Denitrification; mineralization; nitrification; marine biology; aquatic ecology; limnology; Marinbiologi; limnologi; akvatisk ekologi;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, I have studied nitrogen turnover processes in watermeadows. A watermeadow is a wetland where water infiltrates through the soil of a grassland field. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Wastewater treatment in constructed wetlands : Effects of vegetation, hydraulics and data analysis methods

    Författare :Hristina Bodin; Karin Tonderski; Jesper Persson; Stefan Weisner; Per Milberg; Hans Brix; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :constructed wetland; free water surface flow; wastewater treatment; Kenya; Sweden; vegetation; harvest; Cyperus papyrus; Echinochloa pyramidalis; mass load; phosphorus; ammonium; suspended solids; pollutant removal; hydraulics; residence time distribution; data analysis methods; Konstgjorda våtmarker; avloppsvatten; vattenrening; fosfor; ammonium; partiklar; Kenya; Sverige; växter; Cyperus papyrus; Echinochloa pyramidalis; skörd; hydraulik; dataanalysmetod;

    Sammanfattning : Degradation of water resources has become one of the most pressing global concerns currently facing mankind. Constructed Wetlands (CWs) represent a concept to combat deterioration of water resources by acting as buffers between wastewater and receiving water bodies. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Methane dynamics in northern wetlands: Significance of vascular plants

    Författare :Anna Joabsson; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; aquatic ecology; marine biology; Hydrobiology; Växtekologi; Plant ecology; climate change; arctic wetlands; northern wetlands; plant-microbe interactions; methane emission; vascular plants; limnology; Marinbiologi; limnologi; akvatisk ekologi; Ecology; Ekologi;

    Sammanfattning : The studies presented in Papers I to VI illustrate several different aspects of the impact of vascular plants on methane emissions from northern natural wetlands. The subject has been approached on different scales, ranging from the study of microbial substrates in the vicinity of a single plant root, to an attempt to extrapolate some of the results to the entire northern hemisphere north of 50°N.
