  2. 2. Tyre/road interaction : A holistic approach to the functional requirements of road surfaces regarding noise and rolling resistance

    Författare :Tiago Vieira; Sigurdur Erlingsson; Ulf Sandberg; Tony Parry; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Road; surface; noise; rolling resistance; tyre; mitigation; Vägbeläggning; vägyta; textur; buller; rullmotstånd; däck; Building Materials; Byggnadsmaterial;

    Sammanfattning : Increased fuel consumption, increased greenhouse gas emission, diminishing real-estate prices and increased health issues are some of  the negative effects on the climate, on the environment and on the society from tyre/road rolling resistance and noise. The first two aspects are affected by energy dissipation in the tyre/pavement contact and are related to rolling resistance. LÄS MER

  3. 3. High Frequency Tyre Vibrations

    Författare :Patrik Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; local deformation; adhesion; tyre model; air pumping; parameter study; tyre road noise; tyre road prediction models; tyre noise;

    Sammanfattning : High frequency (above 1 kHz) noise generation from the tyre/road interaction is still not fully understood and accurately modelled.Two noise generation mechanisms previously suggested in the literature are reviewed: air pumping and noise generation cased by adhesive effects between the tyre tread and road surface. 4. 4. Tyre-road Interaction: a holistic approach to noise and rolling resistance

    Författare :Tiago Vieira; Sigurdur Erlingsson; Ulf Sandberg; Anders Genell; Hans Jonasson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; pavement; surface; texture; noise; rolling resistance; tyre; Vägbeläggning; vägyta; textur; buller; rullmotstånd; däck; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Energy dissipation, fuel consumption, real-estate property prices and health issues are some of the aspects related to the tyre/pavement interaction and its functional properties of rolling resistance and noise. The first two aspects are affected by the tyre/road interaction as energy is dissipated mostly by hysteretic losses as the tyre is subjected to dynamic deformations when contacting the pavement surface. 5. 5. The influence of tyre air cavities on vehicle acoustics

    Författare :Èric Torra i Fernàndez; Anders Nilsson; Wim Desmet; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; acoustics; tyre-road noise; tyre; air cavity resonances; interior noise; aluminium foams; Acoustics; Akustik;

    Sammanfattning : The tonal character of the low frequency internal noise in cars is often due to energy transmission through the tyre at the first few eigenfrequencies of the air cavity of the tyre. The first acoustic mode in the air cavity of a typical stationary car tyre is approximately 224 Hz. LÄS MER
