    Sammanfattning : This dissertation deals with the Swedish conductor, composer and arranger Ulf Björlin (1933-1993). As no systematic inventory of Björlin’s work has previously been made, a comprehensive collection of his compositions, arrangements, recordings, concerts and work as a producer has been undertaken here.     Sammanfattning : The intention of this dissertation is to provide a portrait of Hilding Rosenberg´s musical work "The Revelation of S:t John" (1940), for a large orchestra, chorus and recitation (recitative), through illuminating the work´s history of origin and basic literary and musical structure. As a composition initially intended for broadcast over the radio, the form and content of "The Revelation of S:t John" was to a great degree determined by the conditions dictated by radio at the time.     Sammanfattning : In the present study I examine the vertical bamboo flute shakuhachi, as an example of how a tradition can be constructed. There are two main issues: the historical authenticity of the believed origins and development of the shakuhachi tradition, and how the transmission of this tradition is conducted. LÄS MER
