  1. 1. Harnessing the molecular Trojan horse : Evaluating properties of preclinical Aβ immunoPET radioligands for optimized brain delivery via the transferrin receptor

    Författare :Gillian Bonvicini; Stina Syvänen; Johanna Fälting; Dag Sehlin; Ken Honek; Sahar Roshanbin; Joy Zuchero; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Transferrin receptor TfR ; bispecific antibody; brain delivery; positron emission tomography PET ; Alzheimer’s disease; pharmacokinetics; Biology with specialization in Molecular Biotechnology; Biologi med inriktning mot molekylär bioteknik; Biomedical Radiation Science; Biomedicinsk strålningsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : With high specificity and selectivity to targets, antibodies are prime candidates for positron emission tomography (PET) radioligands. They do not passively cross the blood-brain barrier which has hindered their development for imaging intrabrain targets, like amyloid-β (Aβ) in Alzheimer’s disease. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Projectification : The Trojan horse of local government

    Författare :Mats Fred; Stig Montin; Statsvetenskapliga institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Projektifiering; kommuner; institutional logic; översättning; action net; Projectification; local goverment; institutional logic; translation; action net; projectification;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to conceptualize local government projectification by answering the questions of how projectification is manifested in practice, and what the consequences of the project logic are for local government organizations and their employees. An institutional ethnography is conducted in the Swedish municipality of Eslöv and its organizational and institutional surroundings. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Signaling determinants in Trojan horse-mediated dissemination of Toxoplasma gondii

    Författare :Einar B. Ólafsson; Antonio Barragan; Eva Frickel; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Apicomplexa; leukocyte motility; dendritic cell; amoeboid migration; host-parasite interactions; podosome; integrin; ITGB1; ECM; MAT; TIMP; MMP; MAPK; Erk; RTK; HGFR; Ras; calcium; VDCC; VGCC; calmodulin; CaMkII; CD63; FAK; SRC; Pi3k; hypermigration; molekylär biovetenskap; Molecular Bioscience;

    Sammanfattning : Toxoplasma gondii is an obligate intracellular parasite that infects all warm-blooded vertebrates including one third of the global human population. While infection is typically asymptomatic in healthy human hosts, reactivated and acute infection in immunosuppressed or immunecompromised individuals can lead to lethal toxoplasmic encephalitis After ingestion, the parasite crosses the intestinal epithelium and rapidly achieves systemic dissemination, ultimately establishing chronic infection in the brain. 4. 4. Hydroxyapatite – A trojan horse in the delivery of apatite-binding cytostatics in bone cancer

    Författare :Yang Liu; Lund Ortopedi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biomaterials; Hydroxyapatite; osteosarcoma; Doxorubicin; Local delivery;

    Sammanfattning : Osteosarcoma is a malignant cancer of the bone mainly affecting adolescents. Despite progress, the clinical management of osteosarcoma is still challenging. With the current chemotherapy protocol being used for more than 30 years, the number of poor responders is increasing. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Neural Progenitor Cells in malignancy and injury of the brain. A Trojan Horse fro gliomas?

    Författare :Karin Staflin; CNS Genterapi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; serologi; transplantation; Immunologi; Medicine human and vertebrates ; Medicin människa och djur ; Immunology; serology; Glioma; sub ventricular zone; neural progenitor cell;

    Sammanfattning : Gliomas are neoplasms arising in the central nervous system (CNS), and constitute the most common primary brain tumor. They are classified depending on the grade and morphology, from grade I, pilocytic astrocytoma, to grade IV, glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). Glioblastomas constitute a great challenge in treatment due to their disseminating nature. LÄS MER
