  1. 1. Formation of Block Copolymer and Surfactant Vesicles

    Författare :Karin Bryskhe; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polymerteknik; Fysikalisk kemi; biopolymers; Polymer technology; nanoparticles; Lipid; triblock copolymer; surfactants; Nonionic; Vesicles; Formation; Physical chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis temperature induced vesicle formation in both a block copolymer system and nonionic surfactant system have been investigated. The block copolymer is a triblock copolymer of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and poly(propylene oxide) (PPO), PEO-PPO-PEO, with the average molecular composition of EO5PO68EO5 and the commercial trade name Pluronic L121 (papers I, II). 2. 2. Block Copolymer Electrolytes : Polymers for Solid-State Lithium Batteries

    Författare :Andreas Bergfelt; Tim Bowden; Daniel Brandell; Yoichi Tominaga; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The use of solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) for lithium battery devices is a rapidly growing research area. The liquid electrolytes that are used today are inflammable and harmful towards the battery components. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Adsorption Properties of Triblock Copolymers at Solid Surfaces

    Författare :Krister Eskilsson; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysikalisk kemi; Physical chemistry; Ellipsomery; Surface force; Adsorption; Triblock Copolymer;

    Sammanfattning : The interfacial behaviour of nonionic triblock copolymers of the type poly(ethylene oxide-tetrahydrofurane-ethylene oxide) has been systematically examined at different types of surfaces. It is shown how the chemical nature of the substrate greatly influences the adsorption behaviour of block copolymers. LÄS MER

    Författare :Jörgen Jansson; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polymer technology; biopolymers; Polymerteknik; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi; Calorimetry; SAXS; DLS; SLS; Light scattering; Structure; Complex; Block copolymer-surfactant interaction; Block copolymer vesicles; Self-assembly; Triblock copolymers; NMR;

    Sammanfattning : The solution properties of dilute aqueous solutions of poly(ethylene oxide)-poly(propylene oxide)-poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO-PPO-PEO) triblock copolymers and their interaction with surfactants have been investigated using static and dynamic light scattering, combined with small angle X-ray scattering, calorimetry and nuclear magnetic resonance techniques. In aqueous solution, the triblock copolymers P123 and F127 (EO20PO68EO20 and EO97PO68EO97, respectively) form micelles with a PPO core and a PEO corona. LÄS MER

    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polymer; Block Copolymer; PEO-PPO-PEO; Pluronics©; Bile Salt; NaGDC; PNIPAAM; PAMPTMA; PAMPS; Mixed Micelle; Self-Assembly; Mixed Complexes;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis incorporates studies on the aqueous systems of two types of thermoresponsive amphiphilic block copolymers; a series of nonionic triblock copolymers comprising blocks of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and poly(propylene oxide) (PPO) denoted as PEO-PPO-PEO block copolymers, and a series of ionic diblock copolymers consisting of one charged block and one block of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAM). Various techniques, such as dynamic and static light scattering (DLS and SLS), small angle X-ray and neutron scattering (SAXS and SANS), high sensitivity differential scanning calorimetry (HSDSC), turbidimetry, electrophoretic mobility measurements, and two-dimensional proton NMR nuclear Overhauser effect spectroscopy (2D 1H NMR NOESY), were applied to study these block copolymer systems.
