1. Fibre-Optic AWG Networks Supporting Real-Time Communication in High-Performance Embedded Systems
Sammanfattning : High-performance embedded systems communicating heterogeneous traffic with high bandwidth and strict timing requirements are in need of more efficient communication solutions. This thesis proposes two multi-wavelength passive optical networks able to meet these demands. LÄS MER
2. Functional modelling of the human timing mechanism
Sammanfattning : Behaviour occurs in time, and precise timing in the range of seconds and fractions of seconds is for most living organisms necessary for successful interaction with the environment. Our ability to time discrete actions and to predict events on the basis of prior events indicates the existence of an internal timing mechanism. LÄS MER
3. Inductive Dependency Parsing of Natural Language Text
Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates new methods for syntactic parsing of unrestricted natural language text under requirements of robustness and disambiguation. A parsing system is required to assign to every sentence in a text at least one analysis (robustness) and at most one analysis (disambiguation). LÄS MER
4. MaltParser -- An Architecture for Inductive Labeled Dependency Parsing
Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis presents a software architecture for inductive labeled dependency parsing of unrestricted natural language text, which achieves a strict modularization of parsing algorithm, feature model and learning method such that these parameters can be varied independently. The architecture is based on the theoretical framework of inductive dependency parsing by Nivre \citeyear{nivre06c} and has been realized in MaltParser, a system that supports several parsing algorithms and learning methods, for which complex feature models can be defined in a special description language. 5. Contributions to Semantic Dependency Parsing : Search, Learning, and Application
Sammanfattning : Semantic dependency parsing is the task of mapping natural language sentences into representations of their meaning in the form of directed graphs on words. These bilexical graphs are designed to capture the sentence-internal predicate-argument relationships – they tell us “who did what to whom” in the given sentence. LÄS MER
