  1. 1. Experimental studies on thrombosis and thrombolysis : With special reference to importance of lys-plasminogen, active site thrombin inhibitors and stable fish oil

    Författare :Liying Chen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; Thrombolysis; thrombosis; recombinant tissue-type plasminogen activator; lys- and glu-plasminogen; aspirin; thrombin inhibitors; platelets; superoxide dismutase; stable fish oil; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi; rättsmedicin; Forensic Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Dissolution and prevention of thrombus in the atherosclerotic coronary artery have become an important part of treatment therapy of acute myocardial infarction. However, the currently most effective thrombolytic agent, recombinant tissue-type plasminogen activator (rt-PA), only elicits 80% recanalization of thrombotically occluded coronary arteries and early occlusion occurs in about 40% of successfullyrecanalized vessels. 3. 3. Thrombosis in Children

    Författare :Olof Rask; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Child; Estradiol; Heart Defects; Congenital; Hemostasis; Protein C Inhibitor; Risk factors; Thrombophilia; Thromboembolism; Autoantibodies; Adolescent;

    Sammanfattning : Aims: The general objective was to further elucidate thromboembolic disease in children and thereby help improve the care of these patients. More specific aims were as follows: to determine what children are affected by thrombosis; to discern any gender or age differences related to thrombosis; to identify prothrombotic risk factors; to ascertain whether autoantibodies against coagulation proteins constitute a risk factor for childhood thrombosis; to study girls receiving estrogen treatment with regard to induced hemostatic changes and efficacy of the therapy; to investigate long-term effects on the hemostatic system in children subjected to heart surgery. 4. 4. Immobilization as a risk factor for arterial and venous thrombosis

    Författare :Karin Arinell; Ole Frøbert; Kjeld Christensen; Tal Hörer; Joakim Alfredsson; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Venous thrombosis; arterial thrombosis; atherosclerosis; cystatin C; cholesterol; platelet activation; platelet aggregation; immobilization;

    Sammanfattning : Aim: Immobilization and a sedentary lifestyle are correlated with an elevated risk of both arterial and venous thrombosis. The goal of this research was to investigate whether markers associated with cardiovascular disease risk are altered during long term immobilization in a human model and in the brown bear, which survives annual cycles of long-term immobilization. 5. 5. Risk Estimation and Prediction of Preeclampsia, IUGR, and Thrombosis in Pregnancy

    Författare :Pelle Lindqvist; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to improve background knowledge for making a reliable medical evaluation at the first visit of a woman in her 13th gestational week, to the antenatal clinic. We have focused on the prediction and the risk estimation of preeclampsia, intra-uterine growth restriction (IUGR), and thrombosis. LÄS MER
