  1. 1. Genetic and molecular background of pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma

    Författare :Adam Stenman; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Pheochromocytomas (PCC) and abdominal paragangliomas (PGL), collectively denoted PPGL, are neuroendocrine tumors (NET) with a highly diverse genetic and molecular etiology, arisen in the adrenal medulla and abdominal paraganglia respectively. The tumors often cause cardiovascular symptoms due to the high production of catecholamines, and malignancy occurs in 10% of the PCCs and 30% of the PGLs. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Understanding the interplay between gut microbiota, gut function and host genes in the generation of gastrointestinal symptoms and disease

    Författare :Fatemeh Hadizadeh; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a multifactorial and complex disease categorized in the functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs) with an intricate pathogenesis yet far from understood. The prevalence and burden of the FGIDs has urged the need to improve our understanding of them and recent findings have led us to realize that there are biochemical and structural alterations playing roles in their etiology. 4. 4. Time resolved laser studies of gas phase and condensed phase molecules

    Författare :Cecilia Lundevall; Indrek Martinsson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Different laser based techniques have been used to study lifetimes and spectra of gas phase molecules, and non-linear optical phenomena in condensed phase materials.The lifetimes of several electronically excited states of the diatomic molecules vanadium oxide, VO, zirconium sulphide, ZrS, titanium sulphide, TiS and titanium oxide, TiO have been performed by resonant two-photon ionisation spectroscopy in a molecular beam combined with a time of flight mass spectrometer. 5. 5. Genetics of immunoglobulin a deficiency

    Författare :Che Kang Lim; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Immunoglobulin A deficiency (IgAD) is the most common primary immunodeficiency in Caucasian populations. It is defined as a serum IgA level below 0.07 g/L with normal IgM and IgG levels in an individual older than four years of age. LÄS MER
