    Sammanfattning : This dissertation addresses the topic of descriptions in conversation: a relatively unexplored area of investigation apart from a small number of studies within the field of conversation analysis (Mondada 1998, 1999). However, whereas previous studies focus on the description as a social activity, enhancing the conversational facet, the present work has as a premise to put emphasis on the description as a textual phenomenon developed by the speakers without neglecting the conversational context.     Sammanfattning : Five representative, and essentially dissimilar, novels by Ulla Isaksson are analysed in this book: the Christian novel Ytterst i havet (1950); the love story De två saliga ("The Blessed Ones" 1962); two novels dealing with feminine problems, Kvinnohuset (1952) and FödelseDagen (1988); and the historical novel Dit du icke vill (1956). The final chapter, on Dit du icke vill , also looks at the Christian theme as well as the theme of love and women. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The aim of the present study is to analyze the conception of time in six books of poems by José Hierro (1922-2002): Tierra sin nosotros (1947), Alegría (1947), Con las piedras, con el viento… (1950), Quinta del 42 (1952), Cuanto sé de mí (1957) and Libro de las alucinaciones (1964). It is suggested that the theme of time in Hierro´s poetry can be approached from three different points of view: existence, essence and consciousness. LÄS MER
