  1. 1. Ink Jetting of Photochromic Ink : Towards the Design of a Smart Textile Sensor

    Författare :Sina Seipel; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Inkjet printing; UV curing; photochromic; UV-sensing; smart textile; resource-efficient; scCO2 dyeing; jetting; dye kinetics; color performance; durability; stabilization; Textil och mode generell ; Textiles and Fashion General ;

    Sammanfattning : Smart textiles have been a hot topic in research for several decades; however, comparatively few products can be found on the market. Resource-efficient processes can boost the breakthrough of smart and functional textiles, which often necessitate high-cost materials and only require small batches. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The Common Thread, Textile Production during the Late Iron Age and Viking Age

    Författare :Eva Andersson; Arkeologi; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Haithabu; Birka; Scania; Viking Age; Late Iron Age; household production; textile valuables; sail cloth; bone needle; loom weight; textile production; spindle whorl; Archaeology; Arkeologi;

    Sammanfattning : The initial aim of the present PhD thesis was to develop the method of classification for textile tools to facilitate the study of textile production in an archaeological context. The thesis consists of five separate projects and a concluding summary. The study covers the late Iron Age, mainly the Viking Period. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Textile Influence : exploring the relationship between textiles and products in the design process

    Författare :Linnéa Nilsson; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Smart textiles; textile print; thermo chromic print; dynamic patterns; material composites; complexity; design practice; design tools; Textiles and Fashion Design ; Textil och mode konstnärlig ;

    Sammanfattning : Textile materials and textile design are a part of countless products in our surroundings,as well as diverse design fields and industries, each of which has very different materialtraditions and working methods. The aim of this thesis is to add to our understandingof the relationship between textiles and products in the design process, and to explorehow textiles enter and influence product design processes and how products functionin textile design processes. 4. 4. Creating diverse colour-changing effects on textiles

    Författare :Marjan Kooroshnia; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; dynamic textile patterns; leuco dye-based thermochromic inks; textile design; Smart textiles; Textiles and Fashion General ; Textil och mode generell ;

    Sammanfattning : With the technological progress of materials science, the palette of colours with which to print on textiles has expanded beyond those with previously known properties and expressions to a new generation, with more advanced functionality and expressive properties. This new range of colours is characterised by their ability when printed on textiles to change colour in relation to external factors and internal programmes; for example, leuco dye-based thermochromic inks generally change colour in response to temperature fluctuations. 5. 5. Burial textiles : Textile bits and pieces in central Sweden, AD 500–800

    Författare :Anita Malmius; Birgit Arrhenius; Kerstin Lidén; Gunilla Eriksson; Eva Andersson Strand; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; textiles; boat-graves; Merovingian Period; Vendel; Valsgärde; Birka; elite burials; archaeology; Sweden; Migration Period; Archaeological Science; laborativ arkeologi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the role and use of archaeological textiles (AT) deposited in inhumation and cremation burials in Sweden dating from 500–800 AD. The AT are studied in their burial context, including all other grave goods, emphasizing that they were as important as a source for understanding society in prehistory as they are today. LÄS MER
