1. Pressure-Induced Amorphization and Distinct Amorphous States of Clathrate Hydrates
Sammanfattning : This thesis summarizes a study on the pressure-induced amorphization (PIA) and structures of amorphous states of clathrate hydrates (CHs).PIA involves the transition of a crystalline material into an amorphous solid in response of mechanical compression at temperatures well below the melting point. 3. Exploring Dye-Sensitized Mesoporous NiO Photocathodes : from Mechanism to Applications
Sammanfattning : Increasing attention has been paid on solar energy conversion since the abundant solar energy possesses the potential to solve the problems on energy crisis and climate change. Dye-sensitized mesoporous NiO film was developed as one of the attractive photocathodes to fabricate p-type dye-sensitized solar cells (p-DSCs) and dye-sensitized photoelectrosynthetic cells (p-DSPECs) for electricity and chemical fuels generation, respectively. 4. Correlation spectrosopy of single emitters : fundamental studies and applications related to quantum optics and life science
Sammanfattning : Correlation analysis and correlation spectroscopy has eversince the first developments, to characterise light emittingprocesses and biomolecular dynamics, continued to extend itspractical applicability. Today, correlation spectroscopy can beused in life science to study dynamical processes even at thesingle molecule level. LÄS MER
5. On the chemical and processing stability of pharmaceutical solids : Solid form dependent water presenting capacity and process induced solid form transformation
Sammanfattning : There is a need for improving our knowledge and understanding about formation mechanisms and nature of amorphous state in order to prevent the unintended presence of disorder in solid pharmaceutical products and reduce the related stability issues. The suggested theory that water binding capacity of amorphous cellulose affects the chemical stability of hydrolysis sensitive drugs in formulations with cellulose based excipients needs a clarification and water-cellulose interaction profiles need to be examined.
