  1. 1. The Global Fashion System : On its social-ecological intertwinedness

    Författare :Celinda Palm; Sarah E. Cornell; Tiina Häyhä; Fredrik Moberg; Kate Fletcher; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Sustainability; Fashion; Social-ecological system; Transdisciplinarity; Critical realism; Positionality; Hållbarhet; Mode; Social-ekologiska system; Tvärvetenskap; Kritisk realism; Positionalitet; vetenskap om hållbar utveckling; Sustainability Science;

    Sammanfattning : The fashion industry contributes to shaping the state of the planet: impacts of production and consumption of textile fast-fashion are rising, and the growing number of sustainability-oriented actions have not slowed current trends. The industry’s (un)sustainability is mainly researched within two epistemic communities: fashion studies concerned with social sustainability, and circular economy focused on material biophysical and technological aspects of material cycles along the value chain. Sammanfattning : As a consequence of global environmental change, sustainable management and governance of natural resources face critical challenges, such as dealing with non-linear dynamics, increased resource variability, and uncertainty. This thesis seeks to address some of these challenges by using simulation models. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Spatial analyses of people's experiences in urban landscapes

    Författare :Karl Samuelsson; Stephan Barthel; S. Anders Brandt; Jon Norberg; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Urban planning; social-ecological system; human wellbeing; expe-riences; affordance; ecological psychology; resilience; spatial analysis; PPGIS; Stockholm; Stadsplanering; social-ekologiska system; välbefinnande; upple-velser; miljökvalité; ekologisk psykologi; resiliens; rumslig analys; medbor-gardeltagade; Stockholm; Hållbar stadsutveckling; Sustainable Urban Development;

    Sammanfattning : Limiting cities’ negative impact for global sustainability suggests compact city development. However, extensive and accessible urban nature is important for urban dwellers’ wellbeing. Aligning efforts to make cities locally and globally sustainable means resolving this conflict. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Global Phosphorus supply chain dynamics: Sustainability implications for the 21st century

    Författare :Claudiu Eduard Nedelciu; Ingrid Stjernquist; Kristin Vala Ragnarsdottir; Birgit Kopainski; Pål Börjesson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; phosphorus; supply chain; food security; circularity; systems thinking; system dynamics modeling; naturgeografi; Physical Geography;

    Sammanfattning : Phosphorus is an essential yet irreplaceable macronutrient for agriculture and thus plays a key role in global food security. Most of the phosphate fertilizers are produced from phosphate rock, a finite mineral resource that is mined and processed at great environmental and social costs. LÄS MER
