1. Aspects of maxillary sinus reconstruction with endosseous implants
Sammanfattning : This study of maxillary sinus reconstruction in conjunction with insertion of endosseous implants included 99 patients. Two separate surgical methods were applied; a one-staged strategy (n=49) and a two-staged strategy (n=50). The aims were to compare two different strategies concerning implant and prosthetic construction survival. LÄS MER
2. Distribution and Effects of NO and CO in the Human Upper Respiratory Tract
Sammanfattning : Mucosal inflammation and airway hyperreactivity are regulated by hundreds of different mediators. The recent discovery of gaseous mediators, produced and active within the airways, opens new possibilities for identification of therapeutic targets and ways to monitor airway inflammation. LÄS MER

4. On minimally invasive approaches to sinus lift procedures
Sammanfattning : Abstract Aims: The overall aim of the present thesis was to evaluate implant survival and bone regeneration after minimally invasive sinus lift procedures. Material and methods: In study I, 61 patients were prospectively evaluated 12 to 60 months after two different methods of locally bone harvesting methods adjacent to the maxillary sinus lift procedure. 5. Healing of endosseous implants with different surface characteristics in grafted and non-grafted bone : clinical and experimental studies
Sammanfattning : Aims: This study uses radiological and clinical evaluations of the healing of endosseous titanium implants presented with different surface characteristics in the clinical situation (paper I-III) and experimentally to describe the early bone healing in maxillary sinus membrane elevation with and without the use of grafting material (paper IV).Material and methods: In paper I, 136 patients were treated with 394 dental implants – 199 were oxidized titanium implants (Nobel Biocare TiUnite) and 195 were turned titanium surface implants (Nobel Biocare Mark III).
