  1. 1. Compact solid-state lasers in the near-infrard and visible spectral range

    Författare :Kai Seger; Fredrik Laurell; Uwe Griebner; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; volume Bragg gratings; single-longitudinal-mode laser; laser tuning; Q-switching; mode-locking; carbon nanotubes; semiconductor lasers; neodymium; ytterbium; nonlinear optics; KTP;

    Sammanfattning : The subject of this thesis is the exploration of new concepts for compact solid-state lasers in the visible and near-infrared spectral range using new components such as volume Bragg gratings for wavelength stabilisation and wavelength tuning. Also single-walled carbon nanotubes for mode-locking and Q-switching of lasers have been studied. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Spectral control of lasers and optical parametric oscillators with volume Bragg gratings

    Författare :Björn Jacobsson; Fredrik Laurell; Uwe Morgner; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; volume Bragg gratings; single-longitudinal-mode laser; laser tuning; erbium; neodymium; ytterbium; nonlinear optics; optical parametric oscillator; KTP; tunable optical parametric oscillator; narrowband optical parametric oscillator; Physics; Fysik;

    Sammanfattning : I den här avhandlingen visas hur lasrar och optiska parametriska oscillatorer (OPO:er) kan styras spektralt med hjälp av volymbraggitter. Volymbraggitter utgörs av ett periodiskt varierande brytningsindex som skrivits i ett fototermorefraktivt glas. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Development of Laser-Spectroscopic Techniques for New Detection Schemes in Combustion Diagnostics

    Författare :Johan Zetterberg; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Laser-Spectroscopy; Laser Combustion Diagnostics; Rayleigh scattering; FRS; LIF; Polarization Spectroscopy; PS; IRPS;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis work, aimed at the development of laser-spectroscopic detection schemes, consists of three parts, concerned with the development and application of different techniques. The development of UV filtered Rayleigh scattering (FRS) for thermometry and fuel/air ratio measurements, using a frequency tripled, single-longitudinal-mode alexandrite laser at ~254 nm together with an isotopically enhanced mercury filter, is examined first.
