1. Boundary Estimates for Solutions to Parabolic Equations
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the boundary behavior of solutions to parabolic equations. It consists of a comprehensive summary and four scientific papers. The equations concerned are different generalizations of the heat equation.Paper I concerns the solutions to non-linear parabolic equations with linear growth. LÄS MER
2. Time Correlated Single Photon Spectroscopy on Pyramidal Quantum Dots
Sammanfattning : Generation of non-classical light is both of fundamental interest and a common condition for quantum information applications (QIA). One feasible type of single photon emitter for QIA is based on semiconductor quantum dots (QDs), due to their atomic-like energy structure and their possibility to be integrated with other semiconductor devices on the same chip. 3. Optical spectroscopy of InGaAs quantum dots
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis deals with optical studies of semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) in the InGaAs material system. It is shown that for self-assembled InAs QDs, the interaction with the surrounding GaAs barrier and the InAs wetting layer (WL) in particular, has a very large impact on their optical properties. 4. Organic Photodiodes : Optical, electric, and morphological aspects of polymer based devices
Sammanfattning : The use of semiconducting organic materials as the active layer in optoelectronic devices offers some advantages in processing and new possibilities of device fabrication such as large-area devices. The mechanism of charge generation upon light absorption in organic materials differs from that in inorganic semiconductors. LÄS MER
5. Electrochemical and ion transport characterisation of a nanoporous carbon derived from SiC
Sammanfattning : In this doctoral project, a relatively new form of carbon material, with unique narrow pore size distribution around 7 Å and with uniform structure, has been electrochemically characterised using the single particle microelectrode technique. The carbon has been used as electrode material for supercapacitors. LÄS MER
