21. Active Junction Control and Piezoelectric Hybrid Damping for Improving the Acoustic Performance of Lightweight Structures
Sammanfattning : Weight reduction is a key factor in lowering the fuel consumption and thereby the greenhouse emissions from vehicles. However, reducing the weight normally results in a deterioration of the acoustic performance. Thus, the purpose of this thesis is to investigate damping treatments for lightweight vehicle panels. 22. Design of Reconfigurable Hardware Architectures for Real-time Applications
Sammanfattning : This thesis discusses modeling and implementation of reconfigurable hardware architectures for real-time applications. The target application in this work is digital holographic imaging, where visible images are to be reconstructed based on holographic recordings. LÄS MER
23. Recombinant CXCR4/CCR5 hybrid receptors as tools for studies of HIV-1 receptor usage
Sammanfattning : The chemokine receptors CCR5 and CXCR4 are required, together with CD4, for the entry of HIV-1 into target cells. CCR5 using HIV-1 dominates during transmission and the asymptomatic phase of infection. During progression, virus phenotypes with the ability to use CXCR4 emerge in about 50% of infected individuals. 24. Comparison of Different Electrical Machines for Belt-driven Alternator and Starter
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the electromagnetic design of a synchronous machine suited for a belt-driven alternator and starter (BAS) in a micro hybridisation of a mid-size passenger car. The BAS needs to provide a high cranking torque to start the combustion engine, especially in a cool condition where the requirements are highest. LÄS MER
25. Towards Optimal Real-Time Automotive Emission Control
Sammanfattning : The legal bounds on both toxic and carbon dioxide emissions from automotive vehicles are continuously being lowered, forcing manufacturers to rely on increasingly advanced methods to reduce emissions and improve fuel efficiency. Though great strides have been made to date, there is still a large potential for continued improvement. LÄS MER
