  1. 1. Capillary electrophoresis mass spectrometry applied to structural proteomics and small molecule analysis

    Författare :Jordan Aerts; Erik T. Jansson; Per E. Andrén; Petr Man; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Capillary Electrophoresis Mass Spectrometry; Hydrogen Deuterium Exchange Mass Spectrometry; Enantioselective Separations; Drugs of Abuse; Analytical Chemistry; Analytisk kemi; Analytisk farmaceutisk kemi; Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry; Kemi med inriktning mot analytisk kemi; Chemistry with specialization in Analytical Chemistry; Biology with specialization in Structural Biology; Biologi med inriktning mot strukturbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Capillary electrophoresis with mass spectrometric (CE–MS) detection offers a separation method without equal in terms of flexibility, utility, and cost efficiency. Here we demonstrate precisely this through the application of several laboratory-built CE–MS instruments for the separation of brain metabolites in non-primates, enantioselective separations of synthetic anesthetic metabolites in fractionated pony urine, application in structural proteomics workflows, and identification of exogenous alkaloid biotransformationproducts in human cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). 2. 2. Pre-breakdown Phenomena in Mineral Oil Based Nanofluids

    Författare :Mauricio Aljure; Marley Becerra Garcia; Øystein Leif Gurandsrud Hestad; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Mineral oil is a dielectric liquid commonly used in high voltage equipment such as power transformers. Interestingly, it has been experimentally observed that the dielectric strength of the mineral oil is improved when nanoparticles are added. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Pharmacometric Models for Antibody Drug Conjugates and Taxanes in HER2+ and HER2- Breast Cancer

    Författare :Brendan Bender; Lena Friberg; Mats Karlsson; Jin Jin; Oscar della Pasqua; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; pharmacometric; PKPD; model; breast cancer; T-DM1; thrombocytopenia; hepatotoxiticy; HER2; Pharmacokinetics and Drug Therapy; Farmakokinetik och läkemedelsterapi;

    Sammanfattning : In oncology, there is a need to optimize drug treatment for efficient eradication of tumors, minimization of adverse effects (AEs), and prolonging patient survival. Pharmacometric models can be developed to streamline information between drug development phases, describe and quantify response to treatment, and determine dose regimens that balance toxicity and efficacy. 4. 4. Creep aspects of softwood from the cell-wall level to structures

    Författare :Rhodel Bengtsson; E. Kristofer Gamstedt; Mahmoud Mousavi; Reza Afshar; Falk Wittel; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Creep; Solid Mechanics; Wooden Materials; Linear Viscoelasticity; Experiments; Materialvetenskap; Materials Science;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the intricate mechanical behaviour of natural materials, with a particular focus on wood. Despite millennia of use, understanding the mechanical behaviour of wood materials remains challenging due to their complex microstructures. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Gene x lifestyle interactions in type 2 diabetes mellitus and related traits

    Författare :Ema C Brito; Paul Franks; Aline Meirhaeghe; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Gene x environment interaction; gene x lifestyle interaction; physical activity; type 2 diabetes; European Youth Heart Study; Malmö Preventive Project; Prevalence and Prediction and Prevention of Diabetes in Botnia; PPARGC1A; CDKN2A B; HNF1B; TCF7L2; FTO; Epidemiology; Epidemiologi; epidemiologi; Epidemiology; genetik; Genetics;

    Sammanfattning :   Background: Type 2 diabetes is thought to result from interactions between genetic and lifestyle factors, but few robust examples exist. The overarching aim of this thesis was to discover such interactions by studying cohorts of white youth and adults from northern Europe in which physical activity, genotypes, and diabetes-related traits or diabetes incidence had been ascertained.
