  1. 1. Efficient Full-Scale CFD for Ship Hydrodynamics

    Författare :Michal Orych; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; CFD; Self-propulsion; Ship; Verification; Uncertainty; Full-scale; Validation; Seakeeping; Energy-Saving Device; Roughness; RANS;

    Sammanfattning : An efficient numerical approach for ship hydrodynamics, involving a hybrid free-surface potential flow/RANS method, is explored. The work focuses on estimating the delivered power of ships in calm water and in waves, highlighting the benefits of full-scale simulations, particularly for ships with Energy Saving Devices. 2. 2. Zebrafish models for large-scale genetic screens in dyslipidemia and atherosclerosis : Validation and application

    Författare :Manoj Kumar Bandaru; Marcel den Hoed; Anastasia Emmanouilidou; Ingelsson Erik; Shannon Fisher; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; zebrafish; dyslipidemia; atherosclerosis; genetic screens; high-cholesterol diet; APOE; APOB; LDLR; APOC2; PCSK9; LPAR2; GATAD2A; Medicinsk genetik; Medical Genetics;

    Sammanfattning : Hundreds of loci have been robustly associated with circulating lipids, atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease; but for most loci the causal genes and mechanisms remain uncharacterized. The overall aim of my thesis is to develop and validate novel in vivo model systems that are suitable for high-throughput, image-based genetic screens in coronary artery disease and related traits, and use these model systems to systematically characterize positional candidate genes. 3. 3. Kan man räkna med PISA och TIMSS? : Relevansen hos internationella storskaliga mätningar i matematik i en nationell kontext

    Författare :Samuel Sollerman; Astrid Pettersson; Lovisa Sumpter; Christian Lundahl; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; International large-scale assessment; Mathematics; Validity; Validation; Relevance; Assessment; PISA; TIMSS; Mathematics education; matematikämnets didaktik; Mathematics Education;

    Sammanfattning : The overall purpose of the thesis is to contribute to the knowledge of relevance of international large-scale assessments (ILSAs) in mathematics, when these are to be used and interpreted in a national context. If a nation is to engage in ILSAs, draw conclusions from them and act on them, one should be aware of what they are measuring and how well it fits in with the national mathematics education and the mathematics they are trying to teach their students. 4. 4. On Statistical Methods for Safety Validation of Automated Vehicles

    Författare :Daniel Åsljung; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; performance evaluation; extreme value theory; Automotive; validation; automated vehicles; simulation; verification; automated driving systems;

    Sammanfattning : Automated vehicles (AVs) are expected to bring safer and more convenient transport in the future. Consequently, before introducing AVs at scale to the general public, the required levels of safety should be shown with evidence. However, statistical evidence generated by brute force testing using safety drivers in real traffic does not scale well. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Description and measurement of sensory symptoms in autism spectrum

    Författare :Marie Elwin; Lars Kjellin; Agneta Schröder; Agneta Nydén; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Autism spectrum; sensory; perception; qualitative research; scale development; scale validation; sensory clusters; Medicin; Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Unusual responses to sensory stimuli have been reported in nearly all children with autism spectrum conditions (ASC). A few studies on adults indicate that the sensory and perceptual problems persist into adulthood. LÄS MER
