1. On the Robustness of Statistical Models: Entropy-based Regularisation and Sensitivity of Boolean Deep Neural Networks
Sammanfattning : Models like deep neural networks are known to be sensitive towards many different aspects of noise. Unfortunately, due to the black-box nature of these models, it is in general not known why this is the case. Here, we analyse and attack these problems from three different perspectives. LÄS MER
2. Regularised Weights in Statistical Models
Sammanfattning : For flexible and overparameterised models like neural networks, overfitting can be a notorious problem that makes it hard to give accurate predictions in real-life usage. Overfitting is in particular likely in the presence of errors in the training data, such as misclassifications or outliers. LÄS MER
3. Challenging Rightlessness : On Irregular Migrants and the Contestation of Welfare State Demarcation in Sweden
Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the political struggles that followed after the appearance of irregular migrants in Sweden. The analysis starts from the assumption that the group’s precarious circumstances of living disrupted the understanding of Sweden as an inclusive society and shed light on the limits of the welfare state’s inclusionary ambitions. 4. Constitutive equations for concrete materials subjected to high rate of loading
Sammanfattning : Continuum mechanics is used to model the mechanical behaviour of concrete structures subjected to high rates of loading in defence applications. Large deformation theory is used and an isotropic elastic-plastic constitutive equation with isotropic hardening, damage and strain rate dependent loading surface. LÄS MER
5. Positive vector bundles in complex and convex geometry
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns various aspects of the geometry of holomorphic vector bundles and their analytical theory which all, vaguely speaking, are related to the notion of positive curvature in general, and L^2-methods for the dbar-equation in particular. The thesis contains four papers. LÄS MER
