    Sammanfattning : The reception of the American avant-garde poet, playwright, art collector and salon hostess Gertrude Stein (1874-1946) has to a wide extent taken place in an aesthetic context prior to her work’s academic and hermeneutic canonization. This thesis is in part a mapping of this transmedia reception as it is played out in a North American context in the period from her death and until today, and in part an account of Stein’s particular collaborative poetics, through which her work invites such a reception.     Sammanfattning : This dissertation studies the reception of one of August Strindberg’s chamber plays, The Ghost sonata (La Sonate des spectres, Spök-sonaten, 1907), in France, focusing on its translation, transposition to the stage and integration within a given cultural system. The early interest of Antonin Artaud in this play around 1930 led to its being adopted by the French avant-garde theatre and made famous through its staging by Roger Blin in 1949. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The primary purpose of this dissertation is to study the dialogue between the Scandinavian drama and the Uruguayan theatre; how drama from Scandinavia has been received in the Río de la Plata during the last hundred years; how it has been adapted and activated to be meaningful to the audience; how it has been integrated within the Uruguayan theatre and society and how the play changes with that new dialogue. As this is the first study of Scandinavian plays in Uruguay a secondary purpose is to document what has been put on stage; fifty-three productions, ninety percent of which were plays by Henrik Ibsen and August Strindberg.
