   Sammanfattning : This thesis is a study of three global issues – development cooperation, education and gender - and their transformation to local circumstances in Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR), a landlocked country in Southeast Asia. Combining post-colonial and post-structural perspectives, it sets out to understand how discourses of education and gender in Laos intersect with discourses of education and gender within development cooperation represented by organisations such as the World Bank and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).    Sammanfattning : The Colombian government and the FARC-EP envisioned to make history when they sealed the 2016 Peace Agreement, ending one of the longest standing armed confrontations in human history, and promised the cessation of protracted violence. In post-accord Colombia, however, this promise has been eclipsed by political polarization, serious setbacks in the implementation process, and the surge of violence against human rights defenders.    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the narrated experiences of a number of individuals that migrated to Argentina from Russia and Ukraine in the wake of the fall of the Soviet Union. The over-arching aim of this thesis is to study the ways in which these migrants navigated the social reality in Argentina, with regards to available physical, material, and socioeconomic positions as well as with regards to their narrated self-understandings and identifications.
