1. Thermoplastic Insulation for High Voltage Cables
Sammanfattning : High voltage direct current (HVDC) cables that seamlessly integrate renewables have an important contribution to the modern world’s efforts towards a more sustainable future. Extruded HVDC cables that efficiently and reliably transport electricity require robust insulation materials with good thermomechanical and dielectric properties. LÄS MER
2. Voltage Stabilizers: From Design to Synthesis, Processing and Electrical Characterization
Sammanfattning : Voltage stabilizers are additives capable of inhibiting electrical treeing; a degradation mechanism for insulation materials subjected to strong divergent electric fields. The intended use is in cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) high voltage power cable insulation where minute defects in the manufacturing process can give rise to the conditions needed for the initiation of treeing, which in the worst case scenario leads to failure of the insulation system with blackouts and expensive repairs as a consequence. 3. Polyethylene – metal oxide particle nanocomposites for future HVDC cable insulation : From interface tailoring to designed performance
Sammanfattning : Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) nanocomposites containing metal oxide nanoparticles are considered as promising candidates for insulating materials in future high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) cables. The significant improvement in dielectric properties compared with unfilled polymer is attributed to the large and active interface between the nanoparticles and the polymer. LÄS MER
4. Polyethylene/metal oxide nanocomposites for electrical insulation in future HVDC-cables : probing properties from nano to macro
Sammanfattning : Nanocomposites of polyethylene and metal oxide nanoparticles have shown to be a feasible approachto the next generation of insulation in high voltage direct current cables. In order to reach an operationvoltage of 1 MV new insulation materials with reduced conductivity and increased breakdown strengthas compared to modern low-density polyethylene (LDPE) is needed. 5. Characterization of Conduction and Polarization Properties of HVDC Cable XLPE Insulation Materials
Sammanfattning : High voltage direct current (HVDC) cables with extruded insulation system were introduced in 1998. Since then this technology has been growing rapidly with many installations that are today operational at voltages up to 320 kV. LÄS MER
