  1. 1. Fabricating designed fullerene nanostructures for functional electronic devices

    Författare :Christian Larsen; Ludvig Edman; René Janssen; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Organic electronics; Organic field-effect transistor; Organic photovoltaics; Fullerene C60; PCBM; Photochemical transformation; Resist-free lithography; C60 Nanorod; Solution processable; nanomaterials; nanomaterial; Physical Chemistry; fysikalisk kemi; fysik; Physics; Materials Science; materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : A long-term goal within the field of organic electronics has been to developflexible and functional devices, which can be processed and patterned withlow-cost and energy-efficient solution-based methods. This thesis presents anumber of functional paths towards the attainment of this goal via thedevelopment and demonstration of novel fabrication and patterningmethods involving the important organic-semiconductor family termedfullerenes. 2. 2. Polybrominated dibenzo-p-dioxins : Natural formation mechanisms and biota retention, maternal transfer, and effects

    Författare :Kristina Arnoldsson; Peter Haglund; Patrik Andersson; Walter Vetter; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; polybrominated dibenzo-p-dioxins; PBDDs; Baltic Sea; uptake; retention; maternal transfer; metabolism; bioavailability; natural formation; precursor; bromoperoxidase; bromophenol; photochemical transformation; oxidative coupling; hydroxylated polybrominated diphenyl ethers; Chemistry; Kemi; analytisk kemi; Analytical Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Polybrominated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PBDD) and dibenzofurans (PBDF) are a group of compounds of emerging interest as potential environmental stressors. Their structures as well as toxic responses are similar to the highly characterized toxicants polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Formation and Transformation of Atmospheric Brown Carbon (BrC)

    Författare :Kalyan Mitra; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; brown carbon BrC ; primary organic aerosol POA ; secondary organic aerosol SOA ; BrC bleaching; BrC browning; Toluene photo-oxidation; NOx; Ammonia; NH3; acidity effects; light absorption;

    Sammanfattning : Atmospheric brown carbon (BrC) aerosol absorbs light in the UV-Vis spectrum and has poorly constrained but potentially large climate forcing impacts. Most current climate models lack detailed chemistry and interlinked properties of atmospheric BrC, that induce large uncertainties in radiative forcing predictions. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Comparison of experimentally and theoretically determined oxidation and photochemical transformation rates of some organohalogens to promote prediction of persistence

    Författare :Patricia Moreira Bastos; Åke Bergman; Leif Kronberg; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Oxidation; Persistence; Photolysis; QSPR; BFRs; PBDEs; OH-PBDEs; Chemistry; Kemi; miljökemi; Environmental Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The diversity of choices we have to make everyday influence our environment and ourselves in more ways than most of us realise. Anthropogenic substances, such as flame retardants, date back as early as 450 BC when the Egyptians used alum to reduce flammability. LÄS MER
