1. Silaborations of Unsaturated Compounds
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the development of transition metal-catalyzed silaborations of 1,3-dienes and 1,6-enynes. The first part of the thesis describes the development of the enantioselective 1,4-silaboration of 1,3-cyclohexadiene. A number of chiral metal-ligand complexes were evaluated. LÄS MER
2. Novel Methods for Synthesis of High Quality Oligonucleotides
Sammanfattning : The first part of the work describes a procedure of oligonucleotide purification using a reversed-phase cartridge. The developed method employs a very efficient yet mild oligonucleotide detritylation on the cartridge support allowing fast purification of oligonucleotides regardless of their 5´-modification. 3. Synthesis and Applications of P-Chirogenic and Axially Chiral P,N-Phosphines as Ligands and Organocatalyst
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the enantioselective synthesis of chiral mixed phosphorous/nitrogen compounds and some of their applications in asymmetric synthesis. For the most part, the compounds are P-chirogenic, with the chirality centered on the phosphorous atom. The last part of the thesis deals with axially chiral phosphoramidites. LÄS MER
4. Synthesis of 18F- and 76Br-labelled oligonucleotide and nucleoside derivatives
Sammanfattning : With the aim of developing synthetic routes to oligodeoxynucleotides and analogues labelled with the positron-emitting radionuclides 18F and 76Br (half-lives 1.8 and 16. LÄS MER
5. METAL CARBONYL MEDIATED REACTIONS - APPLICATIONS IN THE SYNTHESIS OF POTENTIAL GALECTIN INHIBITORS
Sammanfattning : AbstractThis work reports the development of an asymmetric version of the Nicholas reaction using monodentate phosphoramidites as ligands, which enables asymmetric synthesis from racemic starting material. In addition, we describe the application of metal carbonyl mediated reactions, such as the Pauson-Khand reaction (PKR) and reactions involving cationic iron carbonyl dienyl complexes, for the synthesis of potential galectin inhibitors, implicated in human inflammatory responses and various pathologies.
