  1. 1. Modelling and Intelligent Climate Control of Buildings

    Författare :Mohsen Soleimani Mohseni; Bertil Thomas; Lennart Jagemar; Geoffrey Levermore; Chalmers University of technology; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; neural networks; indoor climate control; operative temperature; demand controlled ventilation; prediction; feed-forward control;

    Sammanfattning : The main purpose of the work presented in this thesis is to examine the possibilities of different control techniques together with intelligent building technology to improve the indoor climate and/or the energy efficiency of buildings. In particular, the possibilities of measuring more variables and using them as input to the controllers are examined. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Swedish operating room nurses preventive interventions to reduce bacterial growth, surgical site infections, and increase comfort in patients undergoing surgery

    Författare :Camilla Wistrand; Ulrica Nilsson; Bo Söderquist; Karin Falk-Brynhildsen; Tor Monsen; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; skin disinfection; patient experience; skin temperature; intra-operative; surgical site infection; bacterial growth; recolonization;

    Sammanfattning : Surgical site infection is a major postoperative complication that causes patient suffering and is costly for society. The general aim of this thesis was to test and describe interventions performed by operating room (OR) nurses to prevent bacterial growth in surgical patients, with the intent to prevent surgical site infections (SSIs) whilst increase patients comfort. 3. 3. Host-pathogen interactions during Campylobacter and Yersinia infections

    Författare :Nayyer Taheri; Anna Fahlgren; Maria Fällman; Sun Nyunt Wai; Elena Vikström; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Campylobacter jejuni; Yersinia pseudotuberculosis; OMV; bile; temperature; proteomic;

    Sammanfattning : The innate immune system is known for protecting the host against invading pathogens, for instance enteropathogens infecting the gastrointestinal tract. The production of e.g. antimicrobial peptides, cytokines, and chemokines by innate immune cells and intestinal epithelial cells contribute to bacterial clearance. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Energy Efficient Window Systems. Effects on Energy Use and Daylight in Buildings

    Författare :Helena Bülow-Hübe; Avdelningen för Energi och byggnadsdesign; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; simulation; thermal transmittance; solar energy transmittance; shading device; solar protection; cooling; heating; energy demand; building; low-emittance coating; window; glazing; comfort; user aspects; operative temperature; Architecture; Building construction; Byggnadsteknik; daylight; perception; interior design; Arkitektur; inredningsarkitektur; Energy research; Energiforskning;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with energy-efficient windows in Swedish buildings. Parametric studies were performed in the dynamic energy simulation tool Derob-LTH in order to study the effects of window choices on energy use and indoor climate for both residential and office buildings. 5. 5. Thermal Modelling of Water-Based Floor Heating Systems - supply temperature optimisation and self-regulating effects

    Författare :Henrik Karlsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; low temperature heating; self-regulation; predictive control; Floor heating;

    Sammanfattning : Low temperature water-based concrete embedded floor heating systems are studied. The utilisation of low quality heat sources is facilitated by low temperature heating. Theoretical models which describe the transient thermal floor heating operation constitute the basis for the analysis. LÄS MER
