  1. 1. A Sight/Site for Transparency or Opacity? Notes on Knowledge Production and Feminist Technoscience

    Författare :Rebecka Molin; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; epistemology; knowledge production; feminist technoscience; situated knowledges; Mode 2; meaninglessness; transparency; opacity; function; representation;

    Sammanfattning : The objective for my research has been to put forward and discuss some aspects of knowledge production in relation to the epistemological positions of feminist technoscience, which lay emphasis on the contextual and the social embeddedness of both research and technology. My main inquiry has been how the relation between the subject and the surrounding context can be perceived epistemologically and how this in turn can be connected to and found relevant to the supposed new mode of knowledge production termed Mode 2. 2. 2. Aging and heat-sealing properties of films based on wheat gluten

    Författare :Sung-Woo Cho; Mikael Hedenqvist; Minna Hakkarainen; Mikael Lindström; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; wheat gluten; aging; migration; opacity; heat sealability; shear strength; Polymer chemistry; Polymerkemi;

    Sammanfattning : Recently the research interest of the possibility of using wheat gluten (WG) as packaging material has greatly increased due to its combination of high gas barrier, attractive mechanical, film-forming and renewable properties. The source is also readily available and inexpensive on a worldwide basis. LÄS MER

  3. 3. INCREMENTAL FAULT DIAGNOSABILITY AND SECURITY/PRIVACY VERIFICATION

    Författare :Mona Noori-Hosseini; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Temporal logic; Anonymity; Opacity; Discrete event systems.; Automation; Formal verification; Fault diagnosability; Incremental abstraction;

    Sammanfattning : Dynamical systems can be classified into two groups. One group is continuoustime systems that describe the physical system behavior, and therefore are typically modeled by differential equations. The other group is discrete event systems (DES)s that represent the sequential and logical behavior of a system. LÄS MER

  4. 4. “And I don’t know who we really are to each other” : Queers doing close relationships in Estonia

    Författare :Raili Uibo; Ulrika Dahl; Jenny Gunnarsson Payne; Ana Cristina Santos; Södertörns högskola; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; queer; kinship; closeness; intimacy; care practices; Estonia; post-socialism; opacity; precarity; temporality.; Kritisk kulturteori; Critical and Cultural Theory; Östersjö- och Östeuropaforskning; Baltic and East European studies;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation explores the ways in which queers understand and practice close relationships in the political, economic and cultural circumstances of contemporary Estonia. The study draws on qualitative methods from sociology and anthropology and is situated at the intersection of queer studies, de/post-colonial studies, family and kinship studies. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Protein-based Packaging Films, Sheets and Composites: Process Development and Functional Properties

    Författare :Sung-Woo Cho; Mikael Hedenqvist; Amar K. Mohanty; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; wheat gluten; solution casting; compression molding; extrusion; injection molding; aging; migration; opacity; heat sealability; hemp fiber; laminate; polylactic acid; clay; nanocomposites.; Other chemical engineering; Övrig kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The depletion of the petroleum resources and a number of environmental concerns led to considerable research efforts in the field of biodegradable materials over the last few decades. Of the diverse range of biopolymers, wheat gluten (WG) stands out as an alternative to synthetic plastics in packaging applications due to its attractive combination of flexibility and strength, high gas barrier properties under low humidity conditions and renewability.
