  1. 1. Synthesis of Conjugated Polymers and Small Molecules for Organic Light-Emitting Devices and Photodetectors

    Författare :Petri Henrik Murto; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; solution processing; conjugated polymers; fluorescence; near-infrared; light-emitting electrochemical cell; organic photodetector; organic light-emitting diode;

    Sammanfattning : Production cost and environmental impact are the two major concerns that are related to the conventional optoelectronic devices. It is desirable for the modern semiconductors that they are free of toxic/costly metals, they can be processed with low-cost solution-based methods, and their optical, electronic, and mechanical properties can be easily tuned depending on the target application. 2. 2. Multivariate Measurements and Chemical Imaging of Organic Compounds

    Författare :Johan Engelbrektsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Image analysis; Spectroscopy; Hyperspectral; Chemical Imaging; PCA; PLS; SERS; Wavelet Transform; Multivariate analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Chemical imaging is an emerging analytical technique, based on the interplay between, most often, spectroscopic measurements and advanced evaluation methodology. With this we can study the distribution of chemical compounds in different compartments, such as individual cells and pharmaceutical tablets. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Multivariate non-invasive measurements of skin disorders

    Författare :Josefina Nyström; Britta Lindholm-Sethson; Paul SLU Geladi; Lars Noergaard; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Multivariate Data Analysis; Non-invasive techniques; Clinical studies; Principal Component Analysis; Partial Least Squares Discriminant Analysis; Wilcoxon Signed Rank Sum Test; Near-InfraRed spectroscopy; Frequency Bio Impedance Analysis of whole body; Laser Doppler Imaging; Digital Colour Photography; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis proposes new methods for obtaining objective and accurate diagnoses in modern healthcare. Non-invasive techniques have been used to examine or diagnose three different medical conditions, namely neuropathy among diabetics, radiotherapy induced erythema (skin redness) among breast cancer patients and diagnoses of cutaneous malignant melanoma. Författare :Nabil Souihi; Johan Trygg; Jukka Rantanen; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Roll compaction; dry granulation; mannitol; dicalcium phosphate; design of experiments; orthogonal projections to latent structures; critical quality attributes; tablet manufacturing; quality by design; design space; near-infrared chemical imaging; texture analysis; modeling; scale up; instrumented roll; Johanson model;

    Sammanfattning : Roll compaction is a continuous process commonly used in the pharmaceutical industry for dry granulation of moisture and heat sensitive powder blends. It is intended to increase bulk density and improve flowability. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Exploring nanosystems for biomedical applications focusing on photodynamic therapy and drug delivery

    Författare :Vladimir Kirejev; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Photodynamic therapy; PDT enhancement; Nitric oxide; NO-based PDT; Targeted drug delivery; Galectin-3; mTHPP; Cyclodextrin; CD-mTHPP conjugate; PpIX AuNP combination; Two-photon microscopy; FLIM; Cell phototoxicity; Ex vivo skin;

    Sammanfattning : The increasing incidences of cancer and related deaths call for the development of new and improved treatment modalities. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) today is an alternative to conventional treatments, but has limitations. This thesis explores different nanosystems with aim to improve PDT focusing on spectroscopic and ex vivo studies. LÄS MER
