1. Molecular sieve film catalysts
Sammanfattning : In this study, well defined ZSM-5 films were prepared on monoliths, ceramic foams, alumina beads, glass beads and crushed quartz glass by further refinement of a method originally developed at the division of Chemical Technology, Luleå University of Technology. The supports were seeded with silicalite-1 seeds and hydrothermally treated, either at 75 °C or at 150 °C in a single or several steps. LÄS MER
2. Artificial Photosynthesis: Molecular Catalysts for Water Oxidation
Sammanfattning : Artificial photosynthesis provides a promising solution to the future sustainable energy system. Water is the only suitably sufficient protons and electrons supplier by the reaction of water oxidation. However, this reaction is both kinetically and thermodynamically demanding, leading to a sluggish kinetics unless the introduction of a catalyst. LÄS MER
3. Biomimetic Transition Metal Catalysts : Insights from Theoretical Modeling
Sammanfattning : The scientific interest in the chemistry of synthetic transition metal complexes is motivated by at least two arguments:1.These can be regarded as models of biological transition metal complexes, e.g. metalloenzymes, whose functions can be difficult to reveal in detail due to their complexity. 4. Structured molecular sieves : synthesis, modification and characterization
Sammanfattning : The work presented concerns synthesis of structured molecular sieves. The preparation procedure is based on the use of ion exchange resins as macrotemplates. Macroporous cation or anion exchange resin types were used depending on the molecular sieve type to be synthesized. LÄS MER
5. Design of Water Splitting Devices via Molecular Engineering
Sammanfattning : Converting solar energyto fuels such as hydrogen by the reaction of water splitting is a promising solution for the future sustainable energy systems. The theme of this thesis is to design water splitting devices via molecular engineering; it concerns the studies of both electrochemical-driven and photo-electrochemical driven molecular functional devices for water splitting.
