  1. 16. Laboratory method for the study of moisture-induced waviness in paper

    Författare :Cecilia Land; Göran Ström; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; method; moisture; paper; paper web; wavelength; waviness; Cellulose and paper engineering; Cellulosa- och pappersteknik; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Paper that is subjected to moisture undergoes dimensional changes. It expands during moistening and shrinks during drying. When the paper is under tension between rollers, the effects are complex since shrinkage and expansion are restricted in the width direction. Waves can then appear on the paper web. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Corrosion of steel in concrete at various moisture and chloride levels

    Författare :Johan Ahlström; Avdelningen för Byggnadsmaterial; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; steel; rebar; concrete; corrosion; chloride threshold level; moisture;

    Sammanfattning : About 7000 concrete bridges in Sweden were built before 1965. The annual cost for maintenance of these bridges is about 0.6% of their total value. The cooling water tunnels at Swedish nuclear power plants have been exposed to seawater for about 30-40 years. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Moisture Conditions in Exterior Wooden Walls and Timber During Production and Use

    Författare :Lars Olsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; laboratory test; MRD-index; moisture; driving rain; hysteresis; wood; precipitation; timber; weather barrier; mould growth; façade; wall; wind barrier; measurement; field test; mold;

    Sammanfattning : Thermal insulation of building envelopes has improved over the years. This means that building envelope have become more susceptible to defects, with an increased risk of moisture damage. The criteria for energy consumption have become more rigorous, but the shift should not lead to moisture problems. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Durability of timber members : Moisture conditions and service life assessment of bridge detailing

    Författare :Jonas Niklewski; Avdelningen för Konstruktionsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :wood; spruce; moisture; durability; decay; service life; detailing; model;

    Sammanfattning : The longevity of timber structures in exposed outdoor environments is often perceived to be unreliable as compared with that of concrete and steel structures. This situation is exacerbated to some extent by the fact that the European commission for standardization (CEN) currently provides no quantitative method for service life assessment of timber structures. 5. 20. Applied Modeling of Moisture Phenomena in Concrete

    Författare :Marcin Stelmarczyk; Andrzej Cwirzen; Hans Hedlund; Klaas van Breugel; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Concrete; Modeling degree of hydration; Modeling chemically bounded water; Modeling moisture sorption; Modeling moisture transport; Hysteresis; Byggmaterial; Building Materials;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis contains new and improved calculation models, based on applied research merging numerical modeling and material research, in the areas of hydration and chemical binding of water, sorption of moisture and transport of moisture in concrete. The proposed model for hydration and chemical binding of water is based on general kinetics modeling and calculates degree of hydration directly, without using of equivalent time of maturity.
