  1. 1. Modelling Towards Control of Dynamic Systems : Applications on RDF Fired CFB Performance and DHN Distribution

    Författare :Nathan Zimmerman; Konstantinos Kyprianidis; Carl-Fredrik Lindberg; Erik Dahlquist; Natasa Nord; Mälardalens universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Heat and Power; Circulating Fluidized Bed Boiler; District Heating; Model Predictive Control; Feed-Forward; CHP; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The combination of global warming along with increasing energy demand necessitates the importance of improving processes pertaining to the production and consumption of energy in combined heat and power plants. This thesis brings to light transient factors currently burdening process performance for circulating fluidized bed boilers (CFBs) combusting refuse derived fuels (RDFs) and district heating networks (DHN). Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with various aspects of coordinated voltage control in electric power systems. It consists of an introduction and six papers. The introduction contains a summary of the thesis and tutorials on voltage control and the search methods that have been applied. LÄS MER

  3. 3. On Optimization Based Control of Distributed Energy Resources in Power Systems: Electricity Markets and Voltage Regulation Perspectives

    Författare :Pavan Balram; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; model predictive control and distribution systems; Electric vehicles; electricity markets; coordinated voltage control; battery energy storage; photovoltaics;

    Sammanfattning : Distributed energy resources are increasingly being integrated into power systems around the world. These resources, typically connected at the distribution system level, are already changing the pattern of power flow from being unidirectional to multidirectional. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Self-organization and Intervention of Nonlinear Multi-agent Systems

    Författare :Yuecheng Yang; Xiaoming Hu; Torkel Glad; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; multi-agent system; linear system; nonlinear system; opinion dynamics; crowd dynamics; leader-follower based model; optimal control; Tillämpad matematik och beräkningsmatematik; Applied and Computational Mathematics;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation concerns the self-organization behaviors in different types of multi-agent systems, and possible ways to apply interventions on top ofthat to achieve certain goals. A bounded confidence opinion dynamics modelis considered for the first two papers. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Fuel-Efficient Look-Ahead Control for Heavy-Duty Vehicles with Varying Velocity Demands

    Författare :Manne Held; Jonas Mårtensson; Oscar Flärdh; Ardalan Vahidi; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; look-ahead control; optimal control; powertrain control; advanced driver assistance systems; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The fuel consumption of heavy-duty vehicles can be reduced by using information about the upcoming road section when controlling the vehicles. Most manufacturers of heavy-duty vehicles today offer such look-ahead controllers for highway driving, where the information consists of the road grade and the velocity only has small variations.
