1. Psykoanalys i ljuset av metafor och metonymi : En analys av Freuds teori om primärprocesstänkande och tolkningsarbete utifrån konceptuell metaforteori
Sammanfattning : The aim of this dissertation is to examine how Conceptual metaphor theory (CMT), with its detailed conceptual framework for various metaphorical and metonymic thought processes, can clarify and deepen psychoanalysis, specifically Freud's theory of the primary process thinking as a central element in his theory of the unconscious, as well as his interpretive work in the case study, Analysis of a phobia in a five-year-old boy (Little Hans). In a broader perspective, my dissertation also has educational relevance as a contribution to the theoretical discussions of meaning and meaning-making. LÄS MER
2. A Passage to Organization
Sammanfattning : How does action turn [into a] substantive and, if it does, how does it turn into action again to perdure or even change?In this endeavor I set out to study organizing and organization by asking myself how organizing becomes a product called organization and how that product turns into the very organizing whence it once was spawned. 3. Svenska partikelverb med in, ut, upp och ner : En semantisk studie ur kognitivt perspektiv
Sammanfattning : In this dissertation, the meanings of the Swedish particles in ‘in’, ut ‘out’, upp ‘up’ and ner ‘down’ are analysed when these words function as verbal particles and thereby, together with the verb, build phrasal verbs. The analysis, primarily based on cognitive semantics, includes semantically regular as well as lexicalised phrasal verbs, and seeks to explain the polysemy of the particles. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : This thesis examines usage of English colour terms in context, based on an extensive computerised text corpus, the Bank of English. It describes the ways in which English colour terms may be used to refer to nuances outside their normal area of designation and to attributes outside the colour domain. LÄS MER
5. Entangled Figures : Five Poems from Temy i variacii by Boris Pasternak
Sammanfattning : This study is centred around different aspects of Boris Pasternak's early poetry that jeopardize semantic coherency and interpretation of his poems. Special attention is paid to metaphors, metonymies, lexical multiplicity (that is a multiplicity of relevant meanings codified in a dictionary) and obscure syntactic connections and how these aspects are combined in his poems.
