  1. 1. Metal Affinity Peptides in Biotechnological Applications As tools in protein purification, protein stabilisation, metal quantification and metal tolerance of bacteria and plants

    Författare :Malin Mejàre; Tillämpad biokemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cadmium; metal quantification; fusion tag; metal affinity tag; phage display; peptide library; metal tolerance; metal resistance; metal accumulation; bioremediation; transgenic plant; tobacco; potato; protein purification; immobilised metal affinity chromatography; metal affinity precipitation; metal detection; protein stabilisation; Bioteknik; Biotechnology; Biokemi; Metabolism; Biochemistry; metal ion;

    Sammanfattning : Metal affinity tags have been fused to proteins and demonstrated to function as tools in protein purification, protein stabilisation, quantitative metal analysis and metal tolerance of bacteria and plants. In biotechnological applications proteins frequently have to function in nonnatural environments with harsh conditions which impose requirements for high stability on the proteins. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Human copper ion transfer : from metal chaperone to target transporter domain

    Författare :Moritz Sebastian Niemiec; Pernilla Wittung-Stafshede; Nigel Robinson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; copper homeostasis; copper chaperone; Atox1; ATP7B; Wilson disease protein; metal transport; size exclusion chromatography; thermodynamics; isothermal calorimetry;

    Sammanfattning : Many processes in living systems occur through transient interactions among proteins. Those interactions are often weak and are driven by small changes in free energy. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Classical and Car-Parrinello Molecular Dynamics Simulations of Polyvalent Metal Ions in Water

    Författare :Sami Amira; Kersti Hermansson; Imre Bako; Uppsala universitet; []

  4. 4. Transition metal dissolution from Li-ion battery cathodes

    Författare :Yonas Tesfamhret; Reza Younesi; Erik J. Berg; Mark Huijben; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Lithium-ion battery; Lithium-ion cathode; Transition metal dissolution; Atomic Layer Deposition; Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy; Cathode-electrolyte interaction; Chemistry with specialization in Inorganic Chemistry; Kemi med inriktning mot oorganisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have become reliable electrochemical energy storage systems due to their relative high energy and power density, in comparison to alternative battery chemistries. The energy density of current LIBs is limited by the average operating voltage and capacity of oxide-based cathode materials containing a variety of transition metals (TM). LÄS MER

  5. 5. Characterizing ions in solution by NMR methods

    Författare :Marianne Giesecke; István Furó; Peter Griffiths; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :electrophoretic NMR; diffusion NMR; NMR imaging; ion pairing; ion association; polyethylene oxide; metal-ion complex; Li ion batteries; electrolyte characterization; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : NMR experiments performed under the effect of electric fields, either continuous or pulsed, can provide quantitative parameters related to ion association and ion transport in solution.  Electrophoretic NMR (eNMR) is based on a diffusion pulse-sequence with electric fields applied in the form of pulses.
