    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to highlight the central conditions, norms and values which enable the staging of certain masculine pupil positions and hinder others at a school located in the northern part of the municipality of Botkyrka, during 2004–2005. The school and the neighbourhood in this study are characterized by a high percentage of people with immigrant background, a result of urban ethnic segregation. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The overarching aim of this thesis is to deepen the understanding of men’s friendships, in relation to gender, sexuality, power, masculine positions, feminisms and gender equality. The thesis draws upon in-depth interviews conducted individually and with pairs of men, between 25 and 49 years old, predominantly well-educated, white, straight and working white-collar or cultural jobs, twenty in total. Hip-hop is often associated with strong notions about authenticity based both on musical tradition regarding style and aesthetics, as well as social categories such as race, gender, class and place.     Sammanfattning : This thesis presents four studies examining some common explanations to the gender gap in managerial positions. Study I compared managerial aspirants with non-managerial aspirants and showed that regardless of sex, the major predictor of managerial aspirations was an internal factor consisting of instrumental ("masculine")qualities.
