  1. 6. LIGNIN HYDROTHERMAL LIQUEFACTION IN SUBCRITICAL WATER TO PRODUCE BIOFUEL AND CHEMICALS

    Författare :Tallal Belkheiri; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Biomass valorisation; base depolymerisation; biofuel; lignin; green chemicals.;

    Sammanfattning : Lignin is one of the most abundant amorphous macromolecules found in nature. Along with cellulose and hemicellulose, it forms a main component of biomass, and is mainly responsible for providing strength, rigidity and resistance to degradation. From a chemistry perspective, lignin is an important source of aromatics. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Catalytic conversion of LignoBoost Kraft lignin into liquid products in near-critical water

    Författare :Huyen Nguyen Lyckeskog; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; LignoBoost; Catalytic conversion; Hydrothermal conversion; Bio-oil; Near-critical water; Lignin;

    Sammanfattning : Lignin, one of the three main components of lignocellulosic biomass, is the second most abundant organic polymer found on Earth. Due to its aromatic nature, lignin is recognized as being a potential feedstock for producing transportation fuel and high value-added chemicals. LÄS MER

  3. 8. LIGNIN DEPOLYMERISATION IN NEAR- CRITICAL WATER TO PRODUCE BIOFUEL AND CHEMICALS: EFFECT OF CO-SOLVENT AND pH

    Författare :Tallal Belkheiri; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; green chemicals; biofuel; lignin; catalytic degradation; Biomass valorisation; hydrogen donor; base depolymerisation;

    Sammanfattning : Lignin is a complex three-dimensional amorphous polymer, which, along with cellulose and hemicellulose, forms a main component of biomass. Its main role is in giving strength, rigidity and resistance to degradation. From a chemistry perspective, lignin is an important source of aromatics. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Equilibrium of lignin precipitation: The effects of pH, temperature, ion strength and wood origins

    Författare :Weizhen Zhu; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; black liquor; 1H and 13C NMR spectra of lignin; carbohydrate analysis; molecular weight of lignin; LignoBoost process; lignin precipitation;

    Sammanfattning : The kraft process is the predominant method for producing pulp in Scandinavia. However, the material efficiency in modern kraft pulp mills for pulp production is only 40−55% and the final product consists mainly of cellulose. A novel process called “LignoBoost” has been introduced recently for extracting lignin from alkaline black liquor. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Carbon Fibres from Kraft Lignin

    Författare :Ida Norberg; Monica Ek; Elisabeth Sjöholm; Göran Gellerstedt; Falk Liebner; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Kraft lignin has a high potential for use in more valuable applications than its current use as fuel in pulp mills and integrated pulp and paper mills. The possibility of using kraft lignin, a green material with a carbon content of more than 60 %, for the manufacturing of carbon fibres was investigated in this thesis. LÄS MER
