  1. 1. Fine needle aspiration diagnosis of spindle cell tumors of soft tissue, including the use of ancillary methods, and correlation with clinical data

    Författare :Henryk Domanski; Tumörmikromiljö; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Patologi allmän ; patologisk anatomi; General pathology; pathological anatomy; spindle cell lipoma; soft tissue; spindle cell tumors; Medicine human and vertebrates ; Medicin människa och djur ; schwannoma; neurilemoma; leiomyosarcoma; immunocytochemistry; FNA; fine needle aspiration; dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans; elastofibroma dorsi; Cytology; electron microscopy;

    Sammanfattning : Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) is gaining increased popularity in the diagnosis of soft tissue lesions. FNAC used as a primary examination method to obtain a morphologic diagnosis, has been part of the diagnostic work-up of patients admitted to the Musculoskeletal Tumor Center of the Lund University Hospital since 1972. 2. 2. Electron Microscopy in Diagnostic Pathology with Reference to Mesenchymal Tumors

    Författare :Birgitta Carlén; Tumörmikromiljö; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; synovial sarcoma; Kaposi´s sarcoma; epithelioid sarcoma; parachordoma; alveolar soft part sarcoma; small cell malignant tumors of childhood and adolescence; cultured cells; surgical specimens; Transmission electron microscopy; fine needle aspiration; General pathology; pathological anatomy; Patologi allmän ; patologisk anatomi;

    Sammanfattning : The experience acquired over a period of 15 years of diagnostic electron microscopy of fine needle aspirates and surgical specimens constitutes the base for this thesis. Some of the tumors analyzed represent rare soft tissue tumors, and consequently not very often ultrastructurally described. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Genetic Profiling in Soft Tissue Sarcoma

    Författare :Princy Francis; Bröstcancer-genetik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; oncology; synovial sarcoma; prognosis; Cytology; SS18-SSX; intratumor heterogeneity; aCGH; array comparative genomic hybridization; gene expression analysis; microarray; cDNA; Soft tissue sarcoma; cancerology; Cytologi; onkologi; cancer;

    Sammanfattning : Soft tissue sarcomas (STS) are a heterogeneous group of highly malignant mesenchymal tumors that account for ~1% of all malignancies. Frequent heterogeneity and pleomorphism along with suboptimal diagnostic reproducibility and insufficient prognostic markers make clinical management of these tumors difficult. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Communication in Palliative Home Care, Grief and Bereavement - A mother’s experiences

    Författare :Lena Holmberg; Malmö högskola; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; bereavement; communication; family caregiver; intergenerational relation; palliative home care; parental grief; reconciliation; support;

    Sammanfattning : In this study a mother’s experiences of communication between her adult son dying in leiomyosarcoma and herself (the author), between his family and a palliative home care team and communication in the support of the mother in her parental grief and bereavement are described and analyzed.
