  1. 1. Modern landfill leachates – quality and treatment

    Författare :Hanna Modin; Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Heavy metals; European Landfill Directive; Biodegradation; Landfill leachate; Leaching tests; Multivariate data analysis; Organic matter; Sorption filters;

    Sammanfattning : Waste management in Europe has changed, mainly as a result of stricter regulations, most notably the European Landfill Directive 1999/31/EC. In Sweden, landfill tax and a ban on the landfilling of waste with total organic carbon content over 10 % have diverted large amounts of waste from landfills. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Conditions and Constraints for Waste Management. Collection, Characterisation and Producer Responsibility in Sweden

    Författare :Cecilia Mattsson Petersen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; waste component analysis; household waste; waste characterisation; source separation; collection; producer responsibility; landfill ban; waste management;

    Sammanfattning : Waste management has changed from being mainly a question of transporting out of sight to being an issue entwined in all parts of society, from product planning to the private domestic sphere. This has imposed new conditions and constraints for waste management, the description of which is the objective of this thesis. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Over the past decades concern about the environmental impact on our atmosphere from human activities has been constantly increasing. From the recognition of local industrial pollution in the first part of this century, over regional scale problems related to urbanisation and growth of traffic systems to global environmental problems such as climate change and stratospheric ozone depletion. 5. 5. Environmental impact of ashes used in a landfill cover construction

    Författare :Igor Travar; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Waste Science and Technology; Avfallsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The landfilling ban for combustible waste in EU countries and the extended use of bio fuels in heat and electricity production will result in an increasing generation of incineration residues, such as fly ash and bottom ash. Instead of landfilling, ashes used as a construction material in, e.g. LÄS MER
