    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the rise, during the first half of this century, of the centrally organized co-operation between the principal actors on the Swedish labour market - Landsorganisationen, LO (The Swedish Trade Union Confederation) and Svenska Arbetsgivareforeningen, SAF ( The Swedish Employers' Confederation). This cooperation forms the core of what has later been called "The Swedish Model" - a partly formalized partly informal "constitution" regulating the relations between Labour, Capital and Government in Sweden.     Sammanfattning : The tertiary sector accounts for a rising share of labour disputes, making studies of public sector strikes increasingly relevant to the understanding of labour market power relations. With the intention of exploring conditions for public sector labour struggles, this study aims to empirically examine the extensive 2003 wage strike carried out by the Swedish Municipal Workers’ Union [Kommunal].
