1. Transcendental idealism and the organism : essays on Kant
Sammanfattning : The notion of the organism has a somewhat ambiguous status in Kant’s philosophy. On the one hand it belongs to natural science, on the other hand it is based on an analogy with the structure of reason. Biology therefore has a peculiar place among the sciences according to Kant: it is a natural science constituted by the use of a regulative maxim. LÄS MER
2. Optimization and Learning for Large-Scale MIMO-OFDM Wireless Systems : Theory, Algorithms, and Applications
Sammanfattning : The requirements for next-generation wireless communications networks, particularly fifth-generation (5G) and beyond, are driven by at least three broad use cases. These include enhanced mobile broadband services to support extremely high data rates in terms of network or per user in both uplink and downlink, massive machine-type communications to accommodate massive internet-of-things applications, and critical machine-type communications to handle mission-critical applications that require ultra-high reliability and low latency. 3. Waves and instabilities in quantum plasmas
Sammanfattning : The study of waves and instabilities in quantum plasmas is of fundamental importance for understanding collective interactions in superdense astrophysical objects, in high intense laser-plasma/solid-matter interactions, in microelectronic devices and metallic nanostructures. In dense quantum plasmas, there are new pressure laws associated with the Fermi-Dirac distribution functions and new quantum forces associated with the quantum Bohm potential and the Bohr magnetization involving electron ½ spin. 4. Kunskapens yttersta kant : Gud och det givna i K.E.Løgstrups Metafysik
Sammanfattning : The dissertation makes an interpretation of The Metaphysics, four books written by the Danish theologian and philosopher K.E. Løgstrup at the end of his life. In a systematic way the dissertation describes a coherent vision of Løgstrups main theories in the books taken together as a whole. LÄS MER
5. Back to the Woods or Into Ourselves? : Kant, Rousseau and the Search for the Essence of Human Nature
Sammanfattning : This thesis contributes to a field of Kant’s practical philosophy that has received renewed attention, namely his moral anthropology. While it is true that Kant, in some of his best-known writings, literally says that the fundamental ground of morality must be pure and thus entirely free from admixture with anthropological principles, he nevertheless admits that these “subjective conditions” in human nature that “either hinder or help people in fulfilling the laws of the metaphysics of morals” make up the foundation of all applied ethics.
