  1. 1. Radiography and bone scintigraphy in osteoarthritis of the knee: comparison with MR imaging

    Författare :Torsten Boegård; Lund Diagnostisk radiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; radiologi; Klinisk fysiologi; medical instrumentation; tomography; radiology; Clinical physics; MR imaging; bone scintigraphy; osteophyte; joint space width; weight-bearing; radiograms; Knee joint; osteoarthritis; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Sammanfattning : The aim was to compare radiography of the tibiofemoral joint (TFJ) and the patellofemoral joint (PFJ), as well as bone scinigraphy with MR imaging in middle-aged individuals with chronic knee pain in the format of a prospective study of knee osteoarthritis. Individuals aged 35-54 years with chronic knee pain were identified. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Human studies evaluating dGEMRIC as a prognostic tool for knee osteoarthritis

    Författare :Henrik Owman; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Delayed gadolinium-enhanced MRI of cartilage dGEMRIC ; knee; cartilage; glycosaminoglycan; anterior cruciate ligament injury; meniscal injury; osteoarthritis; joint space narrowing; osteophyte;

    Sammanfattning : Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common joint disorder worldwide, causing joint pain and stiffness. The current gold standard for diagnosing knee OA is radiography. However, the disease has often progressed well beyond the point of no return once radiographic cartilage changes become visible. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Automatic image analysis for decision support in rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis

    Författare :Johan Kälvesten; Anders Persson; Torkel Brismar; Glenn Haugeberg; Claes Lundström; Linköpings universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Low-energy trauma and fragility fractures represent a major public health problem. The societal cost of the fragility fractures that occurred in Sweden 2010 has been estimated at €4 billion.In rheumatoid arthritis (RA), patient outcomes have improved greatly in recent years. 4. 4. Early knee osteoarthrosis after meniscectomy : studies in rabbits

    Författare :Anna Fahlgren; Stefan Lohmander; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Post-traumatic osteoarthrosis develops after intraarticular injuries. It is a disease, which affects both articular cartilage and subchondral bone, and progresses over 10-20 years. Irreversible damage has often occurred by the time clinical diagnosis is possible. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Knee injuries and their consequences – the impact of impact

    Författare :Per Swärd; Lund Ortopedi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries are common, severe knee injuries that result in a high risk of developing knee osteoarthritis (OA) in the affected individuals. As proof of high impact forces applied to cartilage and bone at the time of injury, traumatic bone marrow lesions and osteochondral fractures, located predominantly in the lateral tibiofemoral compartment, are commonly associated with an ACL injury.
